John E’s 2014 NFL Mock Draft | 21-32

2014 NFL Mock Draft Picks 21-32 by John E

21) Green Bay Packers – Kyle Fuller CB, Virginia Tech 6′ 190 lbs.
The Pack needs help @ CB & S. They prefer taller & lankier athletes w/ quickness. Fuller fits the bill here. XLNT cover corner w/ good back pedal speed. 3 year starter & can lay the lumber. Decent ball hawk too.
22) Philadelphia Eagles – Brandin Cooks WR/SWR, Oregon St. 5’10" 189 lbs.
HC Chip Kelly grabs a replacement for the departed Desean Jackson. Had great year in Corvalis in 2013. Was one of nations leaders w/ 128 recep. Made big notice @ combine when he ran a 4.33 40. Could be a big time receiver out of slot. If he’s loose he’s gone. Plus HC Kelly prefers PAC-12 players.
23) Kansas City Chiefs – Xavier Su’a – Filo G, UCLA 6’4" 307 lbs.
The Chiefs lost 3 OL to FA so HC Reid takes the best G available. Was XLNT pass blocker for QB Brett Hundley past 2 seasons. Opened up holes for ground game. Very good player w/ great footwork. Also has the speed to pull out on sweeps. Should be a pro bowl player early.
24) Cincinnati Bengals – Kony Ealy DE/OLB, Missouri 6’4" 275 lbs.
With the losses of Michael Johnson & James Harrison the Bengals decide to grab a DE who is also a great edge rusher. Nice combo of size & speed. Explosive @ point of attack & a 3 down player.

25)  San Diego Chargers – Darqueze Dennard CB, Michigan St. 5’11" 199 lbs.
Good in coverage w/ speed & toughness. Very physical w/ press man ability & gritty defender. Needs to watch out for penalties. 2 time all Big 10. Had great games vs Ohio St. in Big 10 title game win & Sparty’s Rose Bowl game win over Stanford. Plus the Chargers are really hurtin’ @ CB.
26) Trade – St. Louis Rams (via clev-indy) – Kelvin Benjamin WR, Florida St. 6’5" 240 lbs.
Big time play maker. Creates big edge w/ mismatch size. Has enough speed to separate & stretch D. Had 15 receiving td’s in 2013 for Noles. Had great late season run & would make awesome red zone target. Needs to watch weight. Plus Brian Quick has been a bust & it’s time to move on. Will also consider OLB Shazier here.
27) New Orleans Saints – Jason Verrett CB, TCU 5’10" 189 lbs.
The Saints need some new blood in their secondary. Had 38 tackles, 2 int’s, 14 passes defended & 1 sack in 2013. Good tackler & solid in pass coverage. Teams from Big 12 pretty much stayed away from his side of field all year after his great 2012 season. If he were a little bigger he would have gone earlier.
28) Carolina Panthers – Marqise Lee WR, USC 6′ 190 lbs.
Had a fabulous year in 2012 w/ 118 recept & over 1700 yds. But had down year in 2013 due to poor QB play, change of HC & a nagging injury. Had 7 recep, 118 yds & 2 td’s in USC’s bowl win. Was as healthy as he’s been all year. Great explosiveness & speed. Look for the Panthers to grab another WR later.

29) New England Patriots – Louis Nix NT/DT, Notre Dame 6’2" 331 lbs.
With Vince Wilfolk coming off ACL injury & 33 years old it’s time for another NT. Causes disruption & havoc in backfield. Had outstanding 2013 season until injury. Faced a lot of double teams in 2013. Numbers don’t show how well he played. Stuffs the run & puts pressure on QB. Patriots type of player.
30) San Francisco 49’ers – C.J. Mosely ILB/OLB, Alabama 6’2" 234 lbs.
The Niners could use some youth & help at ILB. When Navarro went down there wasn’t enough depth. Solid in every game the last 2 years for Tide. Has well rounded game w/ good run D, XLNT in pass coverage & has good blitz ability. Can play any LB position well.

31) Denver Broncos – Ryan Shazier OLB, Ohio St. 6’1" 237 lbs.
Shazier has been a tackling machine for the Buckeyes. Was one of nations leaders w/ 143 tackles & 22.5 TFL in 2013. Has a big motor & plays sideline to sideline. Seek & destroy LB. Showed up at combine 11 lbs heavier than listed weight & blistered a 4.40 40.
32) Seattle Seahawks – Joel Bitonio G/OT, Nevada 6’4" 308 lbs.
The Hawks are pretty much loaded but could use help on their OL. Bitonio projects best @ G for NFL but can play anywhere on OL. Had a great combine & has been moving up draft boards since. Could be a little early for him but HC Pete Carroll has done this before (Irvin) & he’s his kind of player.
