2012 NFL Mock Draft top 8 picks are headlined by 2 Quarterbacks going in the top 2. Andrew Luck as the consensus top pick in nearly every 2012 NFL mock draft I have seen as well as the top player in every 2012 NFL draft player ranking system I have seen. In this 2012 NFL Mock Draft I have Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin going 2nd overall with the splash of a trade made by the Redskins.

2012 NFL Mock Draft 7 Full Rounds | 2 Days until the draft… 04/26/2012
1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 QB
This is going to be the lock pick of the 2012 NFL Mock Draft especially after the NFL Scouting Combine. I say that because Andrew Luck had as an impressive workout at the scouting combine as Cam Newton did at last years NFL Scouting Combine. While RGIII had a better workout he is not as polished a player as Andrew Luck and therefore he will have to wait 1 pick to go 2nd overall in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. Additionally if Robert Griffin has a better rookie year I will not be surprised as athletic QB’s usually seem to be more successful early on because they can run out of trouble. But if you look back at Peyton Manning’s rookie season it was not great… but the rest is history.
2. Washington Redskins via Rams : Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 QB
So it’s “Official” now. The Skins sell the house to get RGIII. So RGIII ends up being a franchise QB and a great QB for years to come this is worth it. At this point the Skins don’t have every piece in place so they will need to work the free agency market for the next couple years pretty hard. All said and done this is going to be a really smart move or one of the dumbest ever made. So time will tell.

3. Cleveland Browns via MIN: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Running Back
Below are the multiple directions I can see the Browns going in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. I personally think that at this point Tannehill is out of the mix and Trent Richardson is far and away the best RB in this 2012 NFL Draft. I think with Floyd coming out as a lot of peoples top WR it drives down the value of Blackmon. Therefore, I see Richardson as the best value for the Browns with this selection.
1. They can make the decision to help Colt McCoy out with a top tier wide receiver. Not giving a QB any talent is not going to help him succeed. Therefore, I think they can take Blackmon with this pick.
2. This goes along with the first option in the fact that they need to get talent around Colt McCoy. Trent Richardson is the 2nd viable option in this 2012 NFL Draft. Peyton Hillis is a one trick pony while Trent Richardson is the most complete running back in this 2012 NFL Draft
3. They can build through their defense and lock down Flacco, Dalton and Big Ben to try to win that way. The way to do this would be pairing the top rated CB Morris Claiborne in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft with Joe Haden
4. The last option in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft and the one I personally don’t agree with is Ryan Tannehill. With me saying I don’t agree with this pick doesn’t mean that I don’t think they will make this decision. But I think the Browns should pass on a QB early and take Brandon Weeden with either their 2nd first round pick or their first 2nd round pick .
4. Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Offensive Tackle
This Vikings have a couple options with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft selection. Now that Robert Griffin is off the board they most likely will not be able to shop this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. If Minnesota stays at the 3rd overall pick the top options will be Matt Kalil, Justin Blackmon and Morris Claiborne who are all the top rated 2012 NFL Mock Draft players at their respective positions. Additionally they are all needs of the Vikings for the 2012 NFL Season. So I think they could go in one of many directions but I think Kalil is to good to pass up with this pick .
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Corner Back
In my last updated I had the Dolphins trading up to this pick to get Ryan Tannehill. I still think that it is viable for the Dolphins to trade up for Tannehill to any place from 3-6 but. However, there are so many different potential options that I am just not going to predict the trade. With this 2012 NFL Mock Draft I have the Buccaneers getting my top rated Corner who will pair up with Eric Wright to be their starters.
6. St. Louis Rams Via Wash: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Wide Receiver
The Rams get their player with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. A lot of people projected them taking Blackmon if they remained at the 2nd overall pick. They most likely would have taken Kalil if they remained at the 2nd overall pick. There is not any OT worthy of this selection in the 2012 NFL Mock Draft so I think the Dolphins can trade down again if they like or take Blackmon or Floyd with this selection.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Fletcher Cox, DT, Miss State
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 DT
I know that they need help at the defensive end position and getting after the QB. With that being said I think that Fletcher Cox is a top tier player and Defensive tackle. He not only has the ability to stop the run but he is athletic enough to get after the QB from the inside. I could see Michael Floyd, Melvin Ingram and Quinton Coples all being options with this selection as well. However, of them all I think that only Coples would have the ability to have as much upside as Cox does.
8. Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
2012 NFL Mock Draft #3 Quarterback
The Dolphins may very well need to trade up to land the 3rd best QB in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. I however did not predict any more trades in the top 7 with this mock draft so they land him with the 8th overall selection. I think that this could be a tough selection if the Dolphins believe that Tannehill is going to come in right away and be the starter from day 1. I think the best thing for him would to let Moore play ahead of him for a year and then if he is ready let him take the reigns in his 2nd or 3rd year in the NFL.
