2012 NFL Mock Draft top 8 picks are headlined by 2 Quarterbacks going in the top 5. Andrew Luck as the consensus top pick in nearly every 2012 NFL mock draft I have seen as well as the top player in every 2012 NFL draft player ranking system I
have seen. In this 2012 NFL Mock Draft I have Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin going 2nd overall with the splash of a trade made by the Redskins .

2012 NFL Mock Draft 7 Full Rounds | Updated 02/03/2012
1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 QB
So the Miami Dolphins won a game and the Colts still have no wins. At this point I think that the Colts need to win 1 more game then the Dolphins due in order to not get the number one overall pick. with that being said the only way I see that happening now is if Peyton Manning actually gets back on the field in this season. So say they get the first overall pick.. the question is due you take Andrew Luck or do you trade the pick. In this 2012 NFL Mock Draft I do not account for draft day trades so I have the Colts selecting the top rated QB in the last decade to be the future replacement of the great Peyton Manning. Now that the Colts have beat the Texans they now may not even get the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Mock Draft but as long as they do I think they are going to take Luck.
2. Trade: Cleveland Browns : Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 QB
I previously had the Washington Redskins trading up to this pick which I still think is a potential. With that being said I think that the Cleveland Browns have more fire power, with 2 first round picks in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft to trade up to this pick. Additionally I don’t know that the Browns are going to want to move forward with Colt McCoy. With that being said I haven’t completely given up on McCoy as they have not necessarily given him the best talent to work with in regard to receivers.
3. Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Offensive Tackle
This Vikings have a couple options with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft selection. Now that Robert Griffin is off the board they most likely will not be able to shop this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. With that being said if they stay at the 3rd overall pick the top options will be Matt Kalil, Justin Blackmon and Morris Claiborne who are all the top rated 2012 NFL Mock Draft players at their respective positions. Additionally they are all needs of the Vikings for the 2012 NFL Season. So I think they could go in one of many directions but I think Kalil is to good to pass up with this pick .
4. Trade: St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Quarterback
I previously had the Browns selecting Robert Griffin III with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft selection. However, I now have the Redskins trading up to the 2nd overall selection in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft to snag RGIII. Therefore the Browns need to make a decision with this pick. Do they select Claiborne to play opposite Joe Haden or do they get a play maker. I believe with this selection Blackmon or Trent Richardson would both be good selections. All said and done I think Blackmon will be the best pick for the Browns and actually give them a legit NFL receiver.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Corner Back
The Buccaneers could go one of many directions with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft pick. The first thing that comes to mind for me is drafting someone such as Riley Reiff, David DeCastro or Jonathan Martin to step in and sure up the offensive line. Another option I see for them would be selecting Trent Richardson to pair with LeGarette Blount and give them an absurd running game. However, since the top rated CB is still available and they could use some help with age and character issues in their secondary. So all said and done I have them selecting Claiborne if he is available with the 5th selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.
6. Washington Redskins : Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Wide Receiver
The Washington Redskins don’t have as much fire power as the Browns but I still would say they are one of the favorites to trade up and get RGIII. With that being said I think that they either try and trade down to late first round and take the QB they like in Osweiler, Tannehil or Foles (hope note the last). So I think the Skins need to get more talent at WR so I have them selecting the top available receiver with this selection. I could also see them taking Alshon Jeffery with this pick if he works out well at the combine and shows dedication to staying fit.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Cornerback
The Jacksonville Jaguars get a very good cornerback with the 7th overall pick in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. They could also go Alshon Jeffery with this selection to help with their depleted receiving core as well. But I think Claiborne is to good of a talent to pass on with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft selection.
8. Miami Dolphins: David DeCastro, G, Stanford
2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Guard
I think the Dolphins could go 1 of many ways with this selection. I think viable picks for them would be Alshon Jeffery, Trent Richardson, any of the available pass rushers or an offensive lineman. I am choosing to give them an interior offensive lineman who can play at every single position from Right Tackle to Left Guard.
