2011 NFL Mock Draft- May 5th, 2010

2011 NFL Mock Draft: Draft order based on ESPN Power Rankings
1 St. Louis Rams Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
With the first pick in the 2011 NFL Mock Draft I have the Rams selecting a Wide Receiver. I know Julio Jones had a lot of drops last year and a Wide Receiver is a bold pick with the first overall pick but I think that Jones is just what the Rams need. A big physical receiver who would help develop a young QB in Sam Bradford.
2 Detroit Lions Robert Quinn, DE, UNC

The Lions drafted Suh in the 2010 NFL Draft and I have them taking another defensive player. Suh is great but Vanden Bosch is getting old and Quinn is a great End who could be a top tier guy after next year. Look for him to be a high pick in the 2011 NFL Mock Draft.
3 Tampa Bay Bucs A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

The Buccaneers got a good WR in the 2010 NFL Draft in Benn. However, they still need to give Freeman some more weapons and Green is a very good WR who could easily be a top 5 pick in the 2011 NFL Mock Draft.
4 KC Chiefs Jake Locker, QB, Washington

This is kind of a bold prediction for the 2011 NFL Draft 4th overall selection. However, Matt C's contract is looking to expire and they are not winning with him. Look for Locker to be a definite top 5 pick with his athleticism and arm strength. He is my top 2011 NFL Mock Draft QB.
5 Buffalo Bills Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

The Bills did not decide to take a QB in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft. So in this 2011 NFL Mock Draft I have them taking my 2nd ranked 2011 NFL Mock Draft QB. Luck is considered to be the best by a lot of people but I give Locker the slight edge because of his athleticism.

6 Cleveland Browns Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, 'Bama

The Browns need to continue to get play makers in the NFL Draft. I think they could potentially go QB with this 2011 NFL Mock Draft selection. However, they took Colt Mccoy in the 2010 NFL Mock draft so I suspect they will groom him to be the future starter and wait to see if he pans out.
7 Seattle Seahawks Cameron Hayward, DE, Ohio St.

The Hawks need to build their D-Line. They did very well in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft but they did not select a DE which was one of their biggest needs. I think they need to go DE or QB with this 2011 NFL Pick. So I have them taking and End because the top 2 QB's are off the board.
8 Jacksonville Jaguars Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

Sims-Walker has been good but the Jags need another weapon for Garard to throw to. I think Mallett is another option with this 2011 NFL Mock Draft pick especially if they are drafting this high. But for the time being I think they need to help Garard by getting him more options.
9 New England Pats (OAK) Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

The Pats get the best CB in this 2011 NFL Mock Draft. Peterson is a good player and would fit in well with their defensive scheme. They could also go d-line with this pick but I think they can wait until their second pick to address the D-Line.
10 Washington Redskins Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas
The Skins got Donovan McNabb however they don't have a QB of the future. If they are picking this high then they may be looking for that QB sooner than later. Mallett has a really big arm and may attract Snyder into picking him in the top 10 of the 2011 NFL Mock Draft.
11 Miami Dolphins Mark Ingram, RB, ‘Bama

This is pretty high to take a RB in a Draft. However, if they like him then the Dolphins may pull the trigger just because of how much they run the ball. Ingram is an athletic power runner who is my top rated 2011 NFL Draft RB.
