2014 NFL Mock Draft Picks 21-32 by Orinda
21) San Diego Chargers – James Hurst OT, North Carolina
Solid performance vs Clowney. Allowed 0 sacks. Good at pass protection & run blocking. 4 year starter at Chapel Hill.
Would be good protector for QB Rivers. Needs to add strength. Should move right into LOT but could play ROT if needed. 6’7" 310 lbs.
22) Detroit Lions – Vic Beasley OLB/DE, Clemson
Lions need a OLB that can get to QB. Tied for lead in nation w/ 9 sacks. Has 22 tackles, 12 TFL, 2 forced fumbles, 5 passes batted & those 9 sacks in 2013 for 7 games. Has these stats playing DE but will have to move to OLB in NFL due to lack of size. 6’3" 235 lbs. Fast & explosive off edge w/ good pass rush moves. Needs to get better vs run.
23) Cincinnati Bengals – Kyle Van Noy OLB/DE, BYU
Has 45 tackles, 11 TFL, 3 sacks, 5 batted passes & a pick-six so far this year. Had 53 tackles, 13 sacks, 23 TFL, 2 int’s & 2 blocked kicks in 2012. Extremely explosive off edge & solid run defender. Good athlete & XLNT in pass coverage. Great blitzer. 6’3" 235 lbs.
24) Dallas Cowboys – Ra’Shede Hageman DT, Minnesota
Fast rising prospect. Has 24 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 1 sack & 6 passes batted in 7 games. Rare athletic ability for his size. Double teamed for most of season in Big 10. True load at line of scrimmage. Cowboys need to get tough in the middle of their D & it starts here. 6’5" 315 lbs.
25) New England Patriots – Austin Seferain – Jenkins TE, Washington
Only has 7 catches, 205 yards & 4 td’s so far. Sat out opener due to suspension. Huskies have gone to ground w/ Bishop Sankey. Played Basketball at Washington too. And I hear he can jump out of the building. Nice combo of size, speed & athleticism. I don’t know why but QB Price seems to be going to other receivers. This guy is a stud. Might be 1 reason their season has gone a bit south as of late. 6’6" 260 lbs. If Pats go in this direction look for them to trade Gronk during draft who has been injured more than not last 2 seasons.
26) Green Bay Packers – Eric Ebron TE, North Carolina
Had great game vs Miami w/ 9 receptions for 205 yards & 1 td a 72 yarder. School record for receiving yards maybe ACC too for TE. Has nice combo of size, speed & strength. Can really run the seam. would be good in slot too. Also runs good routes over the middle & decent blocker. 6’4" 245 lbs. Allows Pack to cut ties w/ Finley.
27) Kansas City Chiefs – Stephon Tuitt DE/DT, Notre Dame
Has 25 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 5 sacks & a pick-six despite slow come back from off season surgery. Is dominating on line of scrimmage. Had that diving int for td vs Michigan which was a huge play in game. 6’6" 310 lbs. I moved the Chiefs up even though their unbeaten because of all the teams that are over 500 they have by far the softest schedule. On the other hand I’ve moved the Colts down because they’ve beaten the Seahawks, Broncos & Niners who I think are the 3 best teams in the NFL.
28) New Orleans Saints – Trent Murphy DE/OLB, Stanford
Has 22 tackles, 5 sacks, 8 TFL, 2 passes batted & a pick-six so far in 2013. Coached well in Stanford’s NFL 3/4 style D. Blue collar player, relentless when in pursuit of QB & has a nice spin move for opposing OL. Has power & good technique. Good edge rusher. Would fit in nice w/ Saints new 3/4 scheme under DC Rob Ryan. 6’6" 261 lbs.
29) Cleveland Browns (via indy) – Brett Hundley QB, UCLA
Has 67% completion rate, 1661 yards, 13 td’s & 4 int’s. Started off hot but has cooled off last couple games. Can beat you w/ both his arm & legs. Athletic QB w/ good field vision & accuracy. Possesses strong arm & is good on roll out. Could possibly return for JR season @ UCLA. 6’3" 227 lbs.
30) San Francisco 49′ers – Bradley Roby CB, Ohio St.
Has 28 tackles, 6 passes defended & 2 int’s so far. Has had trouble in coverage lately. Was torched by Jared Abbrederris of Wisconsin for 207 yards & 2 td’s. Had tough game vs Northwestern too. Had great year in 2012 so know the talent is there. Fast & instinctive. Plus the Niners are aging in secondary. Look for them to come back to secondary again in this draft. 5’11" 190 lbs.
31) Denver Broncos – Anthony Johnson DT, LSU
HC John Fox loves his DL. The Broncos need someone who can put pressure on QB & stuff the run too. Has 26 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 2 sacks & 1 int in 2013 while being double teamed every game this year. Has speed & strength to cause disruption & havoc in backfield. Good skill set & big upside. 6’3" 305 lbs.
32) Seattle Seahawks – Cameron Erving OT, Florida St.
The Seahawks are pretty loaded but could use help on OL. Played DT in 2011. Moved to OT in 2012 & started 14 games. Recently had great game vs Vic Beasley & allowed 0 penetration or sacks as ‘Noles pounded Clemson. Quick & athletic also has good foot work. 6’6" 310 lbs.
