Blake’s 2012 NFL Mock Draft | 48-64

48.       New England Patriots (from OAK) – Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame

Reasoning: It’s no secret the Patriots had one of the worst secondary in the NFL Harrison Smith can help sure up the secondary.

49.       San Diego Chargers – Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida State

Reasoning: Phillip Rivers never had anytime to throw, Zebrie Sanders could help sure up that awful offensive line.

50.       Chicago Bears – Amini Silatolu, G/T, Midwestern State

Reasoning: The Bears offensive line was absolutely horrific they will need to double dip at offensive line early in the draft here.

51.      Philadelphia Eagles (from ARI) – Lavonte David, LB, Nebraska

Reasoning: The Eagles linebacking core was scary horrible last year, they did trade for Demeco Ryans, they have Rolle at Weak side, David at strong side could complete their linebacking core.

52.      Tennessee Titans – Jeff Allen, T, Illinois

Reasoning: Jake Scott is a free agent and Leroy Harris is horrible, if they want to compete in the AFC South they will need to protect Matthew Hasselbeck or Jake Locker who even takes the reigns in the 2012 season.

53.     Cincinnati Bengals – Lamar Miller, RB, Miami

Reasoning: Yes, The Bengals signed Benjarvius Green-Ellis, but he can’t carry all of the load, Lamar Miller had a excellent Scouting Combine and pro day and could be a monster for the Bengals.

54.     Detroit Lions – Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State

Reasoning: Ok, Lions safety play is awful, Markelle was a ball hawk at Ok St and the guy is a tackling machine.

55.     Atlanta Falcons – Mitchell Schwartz, T, California

Reasoning: The Falcons were destroyed against the Giants, they need to protect Matt Ryan and get running holes for Turner if they plan to make it to the playoffs again.

56.     Pittsburgh Steelers – Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State

Reasoning: The Steelers cut Casey Hampton which is a huge hole in the middle and Jere Worthy can help fill up the hole and at pick 56, this is great value and possibly a steal with all his athletic tools.

57.      Denver Broncos – Brock Osweiler, QB, AZ State

Reasoning: The Broncos need a Peyton successor and they are absolutely in love with Osweiler and who better to learn from than the best to ever toss the pigskin.

58.      Houston Texans – Juron Criner, WR, Arizona State

Reasoning: Matt Schaub can’t keep passing it to Kevin Walter, He will need a new, non injury prone Wide Receiver and at 6-3 224, he is a major upgrade over Kevin Walter in my opinion.

59.      New Orleans Saints – pick forfeited as a result of Bountygate.

60.     Green Bay Packers – Andre Branch, DE, Clemson

Reasoning: Again The Pack has no defensive line that is serviceable they need to build a defensive to get back to the promise land.

61.      Baltimore Ravens – Mychal Kendricks, LB, California

Reasoning: The Ravens lost Jarrett Johnson and will need a need outside linebacker/Rusher and Mychal speed is perfect.

62.      San Francsico 49ers – Vinny Curry, DE, Marshall

Reasoning: The 49ers need depth behind Ray McDonald and Justin Smith, I also think Jake Bequette can compete with McDonald’s starting job and may even take it.

63.      New England Patriots – Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska

Reasoning: As I stated before Patriots secondary is horrible, they will double dip early to sure it up and Dennard could be a great fit for this defense.

64.      New York Giants – Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson

Reasoning: The Giants did sign Martellus Bennett but they still need a serviceable Tight end that can prove him self Martellus Bennett has been in the league for years and has proved nothing.
