Manti Te’O Hoax | My take is different than the rest
Manti Te’O was considered to be a consensus first round talent before the national championship game against Alabama. Some draft analysts and scouts even had him as a top 10 pick in their 2013 NFL Mock Draft’s. He got dominated in the National Championship game by Chance Warmack and the rest of the Alabama offensive line. His draft stock ended up dropping significantly after this game and coming back to where it should be. He should be a mid to late first round selection. I see a team like Pittsburgh or Baltimore drafting him and him being their defensive leader for the next decade. Then this whole fake girlfriend and Manti Te’O Hoax thing came out. I personally believe he didn’t know at first and wasn’t initially involved in making up the fake girlfriend. I think that in the end this press is going to take away some of the negatives that the National Championship game gave him and make him even more popular. A team that is looking to sell tickets and get more publicity might jump on him when they may not have anyway. A team I see that may end up being interested in him are the Jets with Rex Ryan and always wanting to make a huge splash. So unlike what everyone else is saying I think that this in the end wont necessarily be a negative but could be a positive for Manti Te’O. He is coming out as a victim to some people and I think that in the interview process some teams are going to fall in love with him.
