2016 NFL Mock Draft
John Ellsworth’s 2016 NFL Mock Draft | 7 Full Rounds
04/28/2016- Final Mock Draft
1) Los Angeles Rams (from tenn) – Jared Goff QB, California 6’4" 215 lbs
The Rams desperately need a face of the franchise QB. Has had 3 great years for the Golden Bears. They pretty much gave up the farm for him & If he doesn’t pan out the Rams will be picking early the next few years. On the good side he’s the California Kid who’s played on the west coast his whole life. XLNT leader & delivers in the clutch. He doesn’t need to be the star just manage the game & don’t turn the ball over. Can make all the NFL throws. Also is quite mobile & can escape pursuit & pick up yards with his feet. Needs to add about 10 – 15 lbs of muscle & weight over next 2 years so he’s more able to take the NFL hits. Smart player.
2) Philadelphia Eagles (from clev) – Carson Wentz QB, North Dakota St. 6’5" 233 lbs
New HC Pederson decides to select a QB to develop with both Sam Bradford & Chase Daniels under contract. The Eagles have had an XLNT off season but may have hurt themselves here. Another team that gives up to much for an unproven player. But he has led the Bison to National titles last 2 years. Has the big arm that scouts look for. Can throw on the roll out nicely. Possesses a good set of wheels for a big QB. Lit it up at the senior bowl & followed that up w/ a great combine & pro day.
3) San Diego Chargers – Laremy Tunsil OT, Ole Miss 6’5" 310 lbs
A little talk going around that they might take Ramsey here & he’s going to be a great player also. But Tunsil is arguably the best player in the draft & would fill a big need. We’re talking 10 year starter on the blind side who could be a pro bowler for years too. QB Rivers is going to be thrilled. Has all the tools to develop into a great player. Should be good in the community also. Team leader for the Rebels on the field, in the locker room & off the field.
4) Dallas Cowboys – Jalen Ramsey FS/CB, Florida St. 6’1" 209 lbs
The Boys could use help at both positions. Was moved from FS to CB in 2015 & had a very good year. But is a special player at FS which is where I think he’ll play at the next level. In 2014 playing FS he had lots of clutch & td saving tackles for the Noles. Main alpha dog player from a high end program w/ many great players. Will be an immediate impact player. Outrageous athlete w/ legit Olympic aspirations.
5) Jacksonville Jaguars – Joey Bosa DE, Ohio St. 6’5" 269 lbs
The Jags need a DE who can get after the QB & get results. Has great 1st step off the snap to get around OT’s & into backfield. Has been well coached by HC Urban Meyer & his staff at Columbus. Has put together 2 solid seasons in 2014 & 2015. Had a good combine & pro day. Also has good bloodlines being the son of John Bosa the Dolphins former 1st round pick.
