1. St. Louis-Cyrus Gray, RB, Texas A and M-The Rams have needed a clear backup for SJ39. Although talented, Jackson hasn’t always shown durability. The offense will show a two back set anyway. Gray put on solid muscle while maintaining his speed. Not only is a three down, elusive back with speed, he can provide a valuable presence in the return game.
2. Colts-Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas-Luck has a strong arm, but no deep threats to toss to. Childs has untouchable speed and decent hands. At over 6’2” and close to 200 lbs, he will be hard for corners to cover.
3. Minnesota-Markell Martin, FS, Oklahoma St.-Minnesota lacked FS play. Martin is a leader who plays the line well and can run with the slot receivers in coverage.
4. Jacksonville-Micheal Brewster, C, Ohio St.-Jax has been aggressive in the free agent period, and now have the picks to develop. Meester isn’t getting any younger and Brewster is a top C who will need a year to develop.
5. Cleveland-Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin-Although maybe not a true #1, Toon has the hands and speed to be a solid option in the offense. From a pro system, he runs routes and plays the sidelines well.
6. Jacksonville-Sean Spence, LB, Miami-Spence is very undersized, but is extremely fast and is a sure tackler. He will upgrade Jacksonville’s play from the weak side and will add another element to their pass rush.
7. Washington-Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma-Washington needs to shore up the secondary. Fleming has shown some speed, but has the ability to keep with the receiver and play the ball.
8. Miami-Demario Davis, LB, Arkansas St.-Miami lacks an elite WLB who can cover ground and make plays. Davis is a sleeper prospect who plays very solid. He attacks aggressively and blitzes fairly well.
9. Carolina-Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina-Carolina needs corner help across from Gamble. Norman is a speedster who showed he can handle any receiver coming across the field.
10. Buffalo-T. Y. Hilton, WR, Fla Int.-Buffalo will need another play maker across from Johnson. Hilton displays big play speed with great hands. He is a dangerous weapon across the middle.
11. Seattle-Nigel Bradham, LB, Florida St.-Ruud may not be the answer at inside, especially with how talented Wright is. Bradham provides a quality insurance policy. He is fast and covers well and can replace Hill, if Hill is not resigned. If Ruud performs poorly, Wright can shore up the middle and Bradham can play SLB as he sheds blocks and has natural strength.
12. Kansas City-Josh Chapman, NT, Alabama-Gregg is still not signed and Powe is unproven. Chapman is extremely strong and can be a very talented NT.
13. Denver-Brock Oesweiller, QB, Arizona St.-Oesweiller is a talented prospect who is extremely raw. He possesses great speed and vision, but needs to develop accuracy. With no backups on the roster, Oesweiller can develop under Manning.
14. Washington-Brandon Taylor, SS, LSU-Taylor is a versatile safety with extreme range. He has some weaknesses in coverage but will rarely miss an opportunity to put his hand on the ball.
15. San Diego-Lucas Nix, G, Pittsburgh-Nix is a powerful run blocker. He shows good footwork but needs to work on his burst and balance. He can still provide help on the line.
16. Chicago-Jayron Hosely, CB, Va Tech-Hosley is a top corner who lacks true NFL size. He is tremendous in coverage and shows great speed. He tackles well and will fit in great in the cover 2 scheme.
17. Arizona-Mychal Kendricks, LB, Cal-A LB needs to brought in to play next to Washington. Kendricks is a quality LB with great instinct. He attacks the line well and wraps up the ball carrier.
18. Dallas-Aaron Henry, FS, Wisconsin
19. Philadelphia-Travis Lewis, LB, Oklahoma-Lewis was once the best LB in college football. He battled several injuries this past season. The result was showing to the combine overweight and sluggish. Lewis is still a great LB who won’t miss tackles. He makes smart decisions and takes sound angles.
20. Tennessee-A. J. Jenkins, WR, Illinois-The Titans will need to upgrade and deepen the WR corps. Jenkins is a reliable receiver with great speed. He will also contribute in the return game.
21. Cincinnati-Olivier Vernon, DE, Miami-Cincy has great depth on the front 4 but needs a true pass rusher. Vernon is exceptionally quick and gets to the QB with ease.
22. Detroit-Ronnie Hillman, RB, San Diego St.-Hillman is the BPA, and Best/LeShoure are coming off injuries. Even the resigned Smith is a liability. If Hillman is available, someone is getting cut. He is an elusive and durable back.
23. Cleveland-James Hanna, TE, Oklahoma-Hanna is a balanced TE that catches well and makes plays.
24. PIttsburgh-James Micheal-Johnson, ILB, Nevada-The Steelers may still resign Farrior and still have Timmons, Foote, and the developing Sylvester. JMJ is the best player available and is a stellar LB. He plays the run extremely well and has potential in coverage.
25. Denver-Coryell Judie, CB, Texas AM-Judie provides great depth. He needs to add weight to improve his durability. In college he played against the best in the Big 12 and held his own for the most part.
26. Houston-Josh LeRibeus, G, SMU-LeRibeus has exceptional footwork and blocks well in space. He is the perfect fit at G in this zone scheme.
27. New Orleans-Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin-How happy is Brees and who is Daniels a capable backup? If Wilson were taller, he’d be the third QB off the board. He is as accurate as anybody and puts a good zip on the ball. He will be the heir apparent in New Orleans
28. Green Bay-Nate Potter, T, Boise St.-Potter is a sound tackle. He plays a little stiff and needs to add strength. He played LT at a high ranked program. He’s the best player on the board and GB can develop him at G or T
29. Buffalo-DaJohn Harris, DT, USC-Harris is a rotational tackle to play behind Williams and Dareus. He is a great gap tackle and excels at rushing the passer.
30. San Francisco-Matt McCants, T, UAB-McCants is still a student of the game. He can play either G or RT in a pinch and will be developed into a starting caliber LT.
31. New England-Andrew Datko, T, Florida St.-Datko may be a first rounder if it weren’t for injury. New England has Solder in the wings already, but will find a spot for Datko. When healthy he’s strong and mobile. He has great arms and can play any position.
32. NY Giants-Justin Bethel, CB, Presbyterian-Bethel is a speedster. He displays great size for an NFL corner and can also transition to FS.
33. Minnesota(comp)-Tom Compton, T/G, S. Dakota-Minnesota needs to continue to add strength and depth to their O line. Loadholt hasn’t developed into a solid pass blocker and comes off the ball too slow for the run game. Johnson may be released with the addition of Kalil. Compton is a solid, student of the game who can play 4 positions on the O line.
34. Oakland(comp)-Hebron Fangupo, NT, BYU-Oakland will need a NT in the 34. Fangupo is very talented and athletic, he just hasn’t had experience due to religious obligations. The former USC touted recruit displays great strength and lateral movement.
35. Baltimore(comp)-Tyrone Crawford, DE, Boise St.-Jones will probably replace Redding, but it leaves a void in the depth. Crawford is 2nd round prospect but lacks the true explosiveness to be a pass rush threat. He does play hard and is great run stopper.
36. NY Giants(comp)-Jake Bequette, DE, Arkansas-Best player available and an upgrade of Tolleson. Bequette is a high motor player who lacks the elite speed. He does have a knack for reading the play and getting to the QB.
37. Green Bay(comp)-Brandon Hardin, FS, Oregon St-Hardin has shown he is over his shoulder injury. He is a knowledgeable player with a nose for the ball. He has loose hips, covers well, but can hit a ball carrier with force.
38. Green Bay(comp)-Malik Jackson, DE, Tennessee
39. Minnesota(comp)-Bernard Pierce, RB, Temple-It can’t be assumed that Peterson will pick up where he left off. Meanwhile, Gerhardt isn’t a feature back. Pierce is a shifty back who can play all three downs. He hits the hole with some power and has a second gear to extend the play.
40. Dallas(comp)-Orson Charles, TE, Georgia-Its hard to pass on Charles at this point. Dallas needs another TE and on tape, Charles plays well.
