Orinda’s 7 Round 2013 NFL Mock Draft updated 04/06/13
NFL Mock Draft 2013 with draft analysis by Orinda: Changes include several changes in team positioning & major changes in the player selection process.
1) Kansas City Chiefs – Luke Joeckel OT, Texas A&M
At 6’6" 306 lbs he’ll keep the blind side protected for the next 10 years. Started since his freshman year. Best OT available.
2) Jacksonville Jaguars – Shariff Floyd DT, Florida
The Jags need a force in the middle of their DL. At 6’3" 297 lbs has a big motor & plays w/ a lot of quickness. Played well in big games. Could play DT in 43 or DE in 34. The Jags stay local & good for fan base.
3) Oakland Raiders – Star Lotulelei DT, Utah
At 6’3" 311 lbs he’ll solidify the middle of the DL for years to come. Stuff the run & pressure the QB. I think he’ll check out medically. Had awesome pro day in SLC. Also stable off the field w/ wife & 2 daughters. Should get back up to senior playing weight of 320 lbs soon.
4) Philadelphia Eagles – Eric Fisher OT, Central Michigan
This player rocked the senior bowl practices & game. Best player there. Also had great combine. At 6’7" 306 lbs he’ll help keep QB protected.
5) Detroit Lions – Ezekiel Ansah DE, BYU
After letting Vanden Bosch go & Avril going to Seattle the Lions need a DE that can put pressure on QB. Defensive MVP of senior bowl & very solid combine. Former track star & basketball player. At 6’5" 271 lbs had 4.5 sacks & 13 TFL but didn’t start playing every down till middle of 2012. Out of Ghana only played football for 3 years. His best game is ahead of him. Tremendous upside.
