2012 NFL Mock Draft Picks 6-10 by Justin
6. St. Louis Rams vs WASH: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
How smart do the Rams look they trade away the #2 pick get enough draft picks to build a young competitive team if they draft right and they still get their guy. Sam Bradford needs someone to throw to and Blackmon is a man among boys. They say he isn’t as good as AJ Green or Julio Jones. I disagree he will be a legit #1 .
7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Stephon Gilmore, CB, S Carolina
*Trade Spot* He’s flown up the draft boards and plays strong defense with great hips. There is no doubt the Jags need some DB help but above all other choices? A lot of options here and if the Chiefs like Tannehill enough this is where you trade up to. The Jags are in a rough spot they kept together their team but didn’t address any needs. No WR No QB an elite RB and an improved defense. That will get you 6 wins no matter who the coach is. I won’t put it past the GM to go after Malcolm Floyd the WR of Notre Dame but all that will do is create another bust in the WR department. DE and pressure is not as much a need as it use to be with Peyton leaving that division. The Jags are looking for safe picks Reiff is an intrigue as well. The Eagles are calling to get to this spot to snag Fletcher Cox. The Jags like Ingram and the WR from Baylor Wright also. They’ll try moving down.
8. Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
Oh Miami no one wants to party in the city where the heat is on. Heck I bet Reggie Bush is the only one that enjoys it down there because he looks like a star with the team the Dolphins have. I’d just offer Lebron $ to suite up and play TE how worse can it get? Anyhow I digress. This is WAY WAY WAY too early for this kid. Yes he has some potential but he is not a future elite QB. However, beggars can’t be choosers, another lack luster pick by the team that is hanging their hopes on stars sitting in 100 degree heat. If their next QB project is gone a DE is coming to the MIA.
9. Carolina Panthers: Fletcher Cox, DT, Miss State
Well well it appears Cam Newton kept his doubters quiet and the team has a franchise QB however they don’t have much else. There is no way a defensive coach isn’t going to build his defense his way and at this spot they have some great options. Fletcher Cox is the most complete DT in this draft he is ready to be plugged in. He doesn’t have a big ego and his game tape against the best in the SEC is impressive. Panthers build inside out.
10. Buffalo Bills: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
The Bills are going in the right direction. They need to fix their O-line but Reiff I don’t feel is the long armed tackle they want. They’ll pair Floyd with Stevie Johnson and get the offense juiced up. I think this is a reach on Floyd I think he will be a bust but who knows a lot of scouts say he’s better than Blackmon.
