11. Kansas City Chiefs: Quinton Coples, DE, UNC
Getting Coples at #11 is a steal and I think the Chiefs will be doing backflips if he's there. Pairing Tamba Hali with Coples is an intriguing possibility. And in a division of not so mobile quarterbacks (Manning, Rivers, Palmer), having two dynamic pass rushers could very well win you the division. As Coach Tony D'Amato, as played by Al Pacino once said, "its a game of inches".
12. Seattle Seahawks: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
The Seahawks quietly had one of the better defenses in the NFL in 2012. But one of the main pieces it was missing in that defense was a stout leader who can help stop the run. Kuechly is a perfect complement to Seattle's loaded defensive line and young and suddenly Pro Bowl filled secondary. Expect Kuechly to make an impact for whatever team picks him. Seattle would love to have him here at #12.
13. Arizona Cardinals: David DeCastro, G, Stanford
Keeping their QBs upright has got to be a priority for the Cardinals in 2012. Kevin Kolb was concussed all season and John Skelton basically played 2011 trying to hit Larry Fitz while being chased from all directions. They should grab the best guard they can while they have the chance. This pick will help them in both their pass and run game.
14. Dallas Cowboys: Michael Brockers, DT, LSU
If Brockers is still on the board at this point in the draft, I don't see how the Cowboys can pass on him. Not that DT is a weak point in their D-line at all, Jay Ratliff is a Pro Bowl tackle, but when you’re looking at a team that fills most of its holes through free agency, selecting the best available on the board cannot hurt. Brockers will slide right into their D-line rotation with Ratliff and Jason Hatcher. Might not be the sexy pick everyone has come to expect from the 'Boys but I think its time people realize sexy doesn't always win.
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Jonathan Marin, OT, Stanford
One thing the Eagles have learned over the years is that offensive lineman never make it the full season. This team has had to shuffle guards and tackles like no other. The pick may be a reach, but it’s a fit. But, in the end it doesn't even matter. This team should still have lofty expectations of itself no matter the pick.
16. New York Jets: Mark Barron, S, Alabama
Losing Jim Leonard each of the last two seasons to major injuries should expedite the need to get a safety for the Jets. When Antonio Cromartie is tweeting that he'll be switching to safety, you know you need an upgrade at the position. Yes, they signed LaRon Landry, but they had to put clauses in his contract regard his frequent injury issue. Grab Barron and settle the issues in the back end of your secondary.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
Even though defense is the strongest part of the Bengals franchise, improving on the aging Nate Clements should be a major priority. Drafting Kirkpatrick here is a great fit. I looked at the Bengals offense and it definitely needs help but nothing that can't be fixed with their own selection 4 picks from now. Take the top CB available here.
18. San Diego Chargers: Fletcher Cox, DT, Miss State
Selecting the same position in the first round in back to back drafts can be a killer for your drafts, but I think the need outweighs the logic. Having just released Luis Castillo, the Chargers are suddenly very thin upfront. Corey Luiget was a great pick last year, but pairing him with a player like Cox cannot hurt in any way. Its a safe pick for a team that is desperate for good news.
19. Chicago Bears: Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama
It’s finally time for the Bears to infuse some youth into its quickly aging linebacking core. Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher are not getting any younger and the Bears are going to find themselves without any play makers at the LB position if an injury bites either of those guys. Upshaw can be a huge asset to this defense right from the get go. This would be a great pick for the Bears based on all draft logic out there.
20. Tennessee Titans: Cordy Glenn, G, Georgia
Getting young in the offensive line should be a priority for the Titans having just signed vet Steve Hutchinson. While I'm sure their depth allows for them to already have another starter at OG, drafting Glenn here can fill a need for them for the next few seasons. This is another safe pick by the Titans. I would also look for them to look at their WR group for a possible upgrade given the injury history of their guys.
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
I think this is a must-draft selection here. Having lost Andre Caldwell to the Broncos, Jerome Simpson to possible jail time and Jordan Shipley to a major ACL injury last year, AJ Green is the only legitimate receiver they got left. Picking Floyd or even Kendall Wright here is a lock if the draft falls this way. I feel Floyd is a better partner for AJ Green due to his ability to work underneath. I think Wright's deep ball skills would clash with Green's ability to do the same.
