2013 NFL Mock Draft Picks 6-10 by Jason.
6. Cleveland (5-11) — Dee Milliner, CB Alabama
The Browns would have been better off saving their money on Paul Kruger and addressing the pass rush with someone like Ezekiel Ansah or Barkevious Mingo, because they would have been cheaper and Kruger has only had a limited amount of starting time. The Browns also need to address finding a 2nd CB option across from Joe Haden and Dee Milliner would be a great fit across from Haden and form a solid secondary duo in a division that features QB’s that like to force the balls into coverage. With the trade of Colt McCoy, they’ll look to draft a QB to develop under Campbell and Weeden on Day 2.
7. Arizona (5-11) — Ezekiel Ansah, DE/LB BYU
Unfortunately for the Cardinals, they are stuck in a division with 2 young, mobile QBs and they have little to offer to stop them. If, and really when, they pull the deal to land Carson Palmer, their offensive will be back on track, they need to find a way to get more pressure on the QB and defend the read-option and Ezekiel Ansah has the speed to make an immediate impact and former a nice trio with Campbell and Acho.
8. Buffalo (6-10) — Tavon Austin, WR West Virginia
Buffalo really needs to trade down to get a QB and I don’t see Geno Smith slipping down this far nor Buffalo trading up. Unfortunately, they wasted money on Kevin Kolb for the next 2 years, so they will look to Day 2 to get another QB. Regardless, they need to find a 2nd option across from Stevie Johnson and Tavon Austin’s stock has been rising since a great combine. By adding Austin and a healthy Spiller/Jackson combo, whoever takes over the reigns will have plenty of weapons to play with.
9. New York Jets (6-10) — Barkevious Mingo, DE/LB LSU
The Jets are awful and the fact they won 6 games was amazing. They are stuck with Sanchez, have limited offensive weapons and their best player is on the way out. They need to re-tool everywhere and need to take the best available player, which is Star Lotulelei, but I still see teams holding off on him because of the heart condition issue. Mingo is right there with Jordan and Ansah as defenders with plenty of speed and power that can be used in an Aldon Smith and Von Miller type way.
10. Tennessee (6-10) — Chance Warmack, OG Alabama
The Titans need to look at strengthening the offensive line to protect the QB and open up lane for the Johnson/Greene combo. Warmack is a great run blocker and did a great job at Alabama opening up lanes for Richardson in 2011 and Lacy in 2012. He improved a lot last season at defensing against the pass rush and had a great combine. Jonathan Cooper out of UNC may be more versatile because he played some center, but Warmack has better feet and is better in the run block and that is really the Titan’s main offensive scheme.
