In the few close games that the Patriots had this year there were a few things that were key. First of all in order to beat the Patriots you need to stop Randy Moss which means put a safety over the top always and give him the short catch from 3-5 yards. Secondly in order to do this effectively pressure needs to be put on Tom Brady to force him to either tuck it or throw it away. The only teams that have been close with the Pats forced them to make mistakes by pressuring them.
Secondly the offense is another story. Garrard looked pretty good this past week and he showed that he is a very mobile QB. However the Jaguars are going to need more than Garrard but both Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew to have good games. The entirety of the Jaguars offense is their run game and if they have trouble getting this going then they are in trouble. Lastly, if they get behind and have to throw the ball they don’t have a chance because their receivers are sub-par to say the least. Look for the Jags only chance to be them getting on top early and pressuring Brady early and often.
