Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia Mountaineers
2013 Draft Projection: Top 5 draft pick
Class: Senior
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 214 lbs
Stats to Date: Pass Yards: 2414; Pass Touchdowns: 26; Interceptions: 2
In his first 5 games Geno Smith was completing nearly every single pass he threw. Along with that he did not throw a single interception in the first 5 guys. Since then he has thrown 2 interceptions and only 2 touchdowns in the last two games. A lot of people are currently jumping off the Geno Smith band wagon because of his poor player against two better programs in Texas Tech and Kansas State. Additionally he is not out of the woods yet with some very tough games coming up in the next couple weeks. I currently still have him as a top 5 selection in my 2013 NFL Mock Drafts and believe he is the best QB in this 2013 NFL Draft class. If he cannot turn it around to end the season I may have to drop him because he is reverting back to how he played in his first couple years in college. The next couple of games for this athletic live armed player will make all the difference in where he is drafted. Not to mention the NFL Draft scouting combine. I believe that he will probably work out very well by jumping well and running a sub 4.8- 40 yard dash.
