2013 NFL Mock Draft by Evan | Picks 25-32
25. TRADE – Tampa Bay Bucs Via Seattle Seahawks– Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
The Bucs trade up to the end of the 1st round to nab the best TE in the draft just ahead of Green Bay and get a TE to replace the old Dallas Clark and keep giving Josh Freeman weapons. Eifert is a fantastic all round TE who is a good pass catcher and pass blocker and despite lacking elite speed can maybe become a top 5, top 10 TE.
26. Green Bay Packers – Barrett Jones, C, Alabama
The Packers need to replace the retiring Jeff Saturday who had a poor season despite being voted to the pro bowl and he will help give Aaron Rodgers even more time to throw and cause damage. Jones is a rare player who can play all 3 positions on the offensive line and his versatility will be the main reason he will be drafted in the 1st round.
27. Houston Texans – Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
The Texans need a receiver to partner with Andre Johnson and they could either draft a big outside wide receiver or a smaller slot receiver to compliment him. They draft the slot guy in Tavon Austin who can be a Percy Harvin type player and who was part of a West Virginia offense who used him in many different ways.
28. Denver Broncos – Matt Elam, S, Florida
Rahim Moore will likely be drove out of time or replaced by the Broncos after his huge mistake against the Ravens and the safety position was a position of need anyway. Elam was a highly touted recruit from high school who is very athletic but raw in coverage but his stock is going to keep rising till draft day.
29. New England Patriots – Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Deion Branch was on the field for way too long last year. So the Pats draft another receiver for Tom Brady to use which is needed especially with Wes Welker’s future uncertain. Hunter has started to recover from his season ending 2011/2012 season injury and regain his deep speed back. His 40 time in the combine will be huge for his draft stock.
30. Atlanta Falcons – Eddie Lacy, HB, Alabama
The Falcons need a new running back to replace Michael Turner who is carrying a lot of yardage on his legs and allows the Falcons to be less one dimensional. Lacy has stepped into Trent Richardson’s boots with ease and has come up big in the big games against Georgia and Notre Dame. He makes sure that a RB is still drafted in the 1st round .
31. Baltimore Ravens – Arthur Brown, MLB, Kansas State
Ray Lewis has now retired and the Ravens need to find his successor. The Ravens don’t have a lot of needs, so MLB will be a big priority. Brown is a little bit undersized but he has been very good for Kansas State and has an instinct for playing defence. We all know what happened last time the Ravens drafted a so called undersized MLB.
32. San Francisco 49ers – Margus Hunt, DE, SMU
If there is one weakness one the 49ers defence it is probably the depth on this defence. Also Justin Smith who is vital to this defence is getting older and a free agent so his successor needs to be found. Hunt is a big guy but is very athletic and has tremendous upside and has even had comparisons to JJ Watt.
