2013 NFL Mock Draft by Elisha | 9-16
9 – NYJ: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
I love this guy, he ran an unofficial 4.37 40, he has great size, great hands, and great leaping ability. No doubt the best WR in this year’s draft. Amongst other things the Jets need a receiver with play-making ability and Patterson fits that need.
10 – TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Tennessee’s top needs are Guard and Safety. The Titans can fill their Safety need in the 2nd round which means they will go with the best Guard available which is Warmack.
11 – SD: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Philip Rivers was horrible this season and the main reason why was the lack of protection. The Chargers can only hope that Fisher lasts until the 11th pick and if he does they will snatch him up.
12 – MIA: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
The Dolphins need to start building around Ryan Tannehill and I think that starts up front. A WR is a possibility here but they will likely turn to the FA market for that.
13 – TB: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
The Bucs finished 32nd in passing-defense last season, which is last by the way. Rhodes is not exactly speedy but he is fluid and very strong at his position. He also has great arm-length which helps him jam receivers in press coverage. He would be a good replacement for Aquib Talib, whom they traded to the Patriots.
14 – CAR: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Panthers weakest position is at DT, where they literally have nothing. They will need to upgrade this position early in the draft starting with Richardson at 14.
15 – NO: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Saints are transitioning to a 3-4 defense and they need a stand up pass-rusher. Jones might be the best pure pass-rusher in this draft. There are some injury concerns with Jones but he won’t fall past this pick.
16 – STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
The rams upgraded at CB last year with Janoris Jenkins and Cortland Finnegen, but they still need to improve at Safety. Vaccaro is regarded as the best Safety in this year’s draft class. His versatility and attitude make him a perfect fit for St. Louis.
