Dave’s 2012 NFL Mock Draft | 6-10

6.       St. Louis Rams (WASH): Fletcher Cox, DT, Miss St

My first real "surprise" is here at 6. I’ve read a few reports that St. Louis isn’t "In love" with Justin Blackmon, and that they really like Fletcher Cox. Cox goes here at 6.

7.       Jacksonville Jaguars: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State

Jacksonville gets a semi gift, but I can easily see Blackmon "falling" here. He’s not the elite prospect you look for in a top 10 pick at WR. The Jags have one of the weakest WR cores in the league even after signing Laurent Robinson, so this pick is a no brainer.

8.       Miami Dolphins: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

Miami trades away Brandon Marshall, but they replace him here with Floyd, who will give them an instant upgrade outside of the current group in place.

9.       Carolina Panthers: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

The Panthers have quietly worked Kuechly out, and are looking for a real playmaker on Defense. Kuechly is my early favorite for Defensive Rookie of the year, and is a tackling machine who can get deep and cover as well. Love this pick for Carolina.

10.       Buffalo Bills: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

Claiborne falls all the way to Buffalo here at 10 based off of need picks early in the top 9 picks. With Richardson being available for Tampa, St. Louis giving Cortland Finnegan a big pay day, Blackmon being there for Jacksonville, and no real need for a CB this is a real possibility. Of course somebody could always trade up to grab him. The Bills run to the podium. Being a Bills fan I’ve been getting the sense that they are targeting DB in some form very early and in this spot the fit meets the need. Everyone seems to be talking about Tackle, but Buddy Nix said in his pre-draft conference that they think they can win with Chris Hairston at LT.
