2013 NFL Mock Draft by CJ Milner | Picks 9-16
9. NYJ – Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
This was a tough choice between Barkevious Mingo and Chance Warmack but the latter probably won’t help save Rex Ryan’s job the way a difference making pass rusher like Mingo would. I could see the Jets as one of the more active trading teams in the draft.
10. TEN – Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
This was yet another choice for me to mock. This pick came down to Chance Warmack and Desmond Trufant but Warmack would help out both Chris Johnson and Jake Locker. Johnson could return close to CJ2K form running behind Warmack.
11. SD – Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
The Chargers could use an upgrade all across the offensive line with the exception of Right guard where Louis Vasquez is. Lane Johnson could be a top ten pick after having a great performance at the combine and is a franchise left tackle prospect.
12. MIA - Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Miami could go in a variety of ways in the first round this April. I could see them drafting an OT, WR, CB, or DT. Tavon Austin is the definition of a playmaker and would be a great option for Ryan Tannehill, working at both WR and RB.
13. TB - Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
I highly doubt that Sheldon Richardson slides all the way down to the 13th pick so if Tampa Bay wants him bad enough, they'll probably have to trade up. Pairing Richardson with Gerald McCoy would give the Buccaneers the best, young DT duo in the NFL.
14. CAR - Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Cornerback has been a big need for the Panthers over the last few years but they've yet to draft one that is starting caliber. Desmond Trufant is a confident corner with good size and has bloodlines in the NFL that could appeal to teams.
15. NO - Jonathan Cyprien, S, FIU
The Saints need to find a better option at strong safety than Roman Harper. He was torched on multiple occasions last season. Jonathan Cyprien reminds me a bit of Mark Barron and has overtaken Kenny Vaccaro as my top safety.
16. STL - Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Anything to help out Sam Bradford should be the Rams motto for the draft this year. Jonathan Cooper is a perfect fit for St. Louis at left guard and could help out Bradford along with last year's second round pick, RB Isaiah Pead.
