2013 NFL Mock Draft by CJ Milner | Picks 17-24
17. PIT – Bjoern Werner, OLB, Florida State
James Harrison is aging and could retire soon while LaMarr Woodley had a down year last season so finding a pass rushing OLB should be a high priority this offseason. Bjoern Werner reminds me a bit of Ryan Kerrigan and is a nice value pick at 17.
18. DAL – Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
Datone Jones really burst onto the scene at the senior bowl and had a very good combine performance but he played that way at UCLA this season. Dallas may be losing both Anthony Spencer and Victor Butler in free agency so DE is a big need.
19. NYG – Alec Ogletree, LB, Georgia
Alec Ogletree would be a good fit in the Giants scheme and should be available with thte 19th pick after he was arrested just before the combine. Ogletree could line up at either MLB or WLB for New York replacing either Keith Rivers or Chase Blackburn.
20. CHI - Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pinebluff
Terron Armstead, in my opinion, had the best combine performace of all players and may have improved his stock more than anyone as well. I prefer D.J. Fluker but Armstead is the better scheme fit. Armstead could start at left tackle for Chicago.
21. CIN - Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
With Manny Lawson hitting free agency and the Bengals already needing linebacker as well as pass rush help, Jarvis Jones makes sense if he is available. Jones can line up at SLB which would allow Vontaze Burfict slide over to MLB which is his more natural position.
22. STL (from WAS) - Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Lance Kendricks is not the answer for the Rams at tight end and they really need to find a new option for Sam Bradford. Tyler Eifert is the clear top tight end for me and can play inline, in the slot, or even out wide in some sets.
23. MIN - Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Whatever is said between now and the draft in April could really determine where Star Lotulelei goes in the draft. If he checks out ok he should go somewhere in the ten to twenty range. If he doesn't, he could fall big time.
24. IND - D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Anthony Castonzo seems to have settled in at left tackle. Meanwhile, Winston Justice really needs to be upgraded on the right side. D.J. Fluker is the best run blocker in the draft and even though he isn't a great fit for the Colts, I can't see him falling any further.
