CJ’s 2012 NFL Mock Draft | Round 3

1. Colts – Alameda Ta’amu – NT – Washington

– Ta’amu could be the Colts pick in the second round. With the transition to the 3-4, Indy must find a true nose tackle.

2. Rams – Bobby Wagner – LB – Utah St.

– Wagner is one of my sleeper prospects. I see a lot of Jon Beason in him.

3. Vikings – Alfonzo Dennard – CB – Nebraska

– Depth is need at the corner position with Antoine Winfield aging and Cedric Griffin sucking.

4. Browns – A.J. Jenkins – WR – Illinois

– I could even see A.J. Jenkins going in the second round. He has some of the better hands in the draft.

5. Buccaneers – Mychal Kendricks – LB – Cal

– After missing out on Curtis Lofton in free agency, Tampa Bay needs to spend an early selection at linebacker.

6. Redskins – Brandon Brooks – G – Miami (OH)

– Washington should invest in an offensive lineman sometime in the draft to help protect Robert Griffin III.

7. Jaguars – Chandler Jones – DE – Syracuse

– Chandler Jones would be a steal this late in the draft as he could possibly go late in the first round.

8. Bills – Jamell Fleming – CB – Oklahoma

– Buffalo needs to add depth to corner. Terrence McGee is getting older and Leodis McKelvin is officially a bust. Aaron Williams should step into the starting lineup.

9. Dolphins – Marvin Jones – WR – Cal

– Another target for Ryan Tannehill. Miami will probably take a WR early in the draft with the trade of Brandon Marshall to Chicago.

10. Dolphins(from Bears via Panthers) – Cam Johnson – DE – Virginia

– A potential starter is needed at defensive end across from Cameron Wake with the move to the 4-3 defense.

11. Chiefs – Mike Martin – DT – Michigan

– Kansas City needs depth on the defensive line and Mike Martin seems to be a perfect fit as a five-tech. He could also slide inside to nose tackle.

12. Seahawks – Brandon Washington – G – Miami

– Robert Gallery was just released as he was terrible last year. Seattle signed Frack Omiyale, but that was just for depth. A starter at guard is needed.

13. Texans(from Eagles) – Brandon Mosley – OT – Auburn

– Why Houston cut one of the better right tackles in the league in Eric Winston is beyond my belief. Depth is needed at the position.

14. Jets – Jake Bequette – DE/OLB – Arkansas

– Jake Bequette lined up as an OLB in a 3-4 defense at the senior bowl and looked good doing so. The Jets need to find someone to start at OLB.

15. Raiders – Terrell Pryor(supplemental draft)

16. Chargers – LaMichael James – RB – Oregon

– San Diego missed Darren Sproles dearly last season. Mike Tolbert just signed with Carolina which makes the need for a backup to Ryan Mathews that much more of a need.

17. Bears – Ben Jones – C – Georgia

– Chicago could draft either a guard or a center. Ben Jones would be the best available at the position and would allow Roberto Garza to move back to guard.

18. Cardinals – James Brown – T/G – Troy

– Arizona cut and re-signed Levi Brown, but it makes no difference. He still blows. Depth is needed at tackle and guard and Brown is a small school sleeper.

19. Cowboys – Trumaine Johnson – CB/S – Montana

– I’m not a huge Trumaine Johnson fan. Every time I watch one of his games, he is constantly getting beat by WR’s in a weak division. He might have to move to safety in the NFL.

20. Titans – Terrell Manning – OLB – NC St.

– If it were up to me, I’d take Terrell Manning in the second round. Tennessee would be getting a stud at weakside linebacker.

21. Bengals – Antonio Allen – S – S. Carolina

– Antonio Allen is another guy that I would take in round two. I see a lot of Thomas Davis in him.

22. Falcons – Brandon Boykin – CB – Georgia

– Atlanta franchised Brent Grimes so he will be a free agent once again next year. Meanwhile, Dunta Robinson has been a bust signing so far.

23. Lions – Matt McCants – OT – UAB

– McCants may have to slide inside to guard in the NFL. He would battle with Gosder Cherilus for the right tackle. Whichever won the job, the other would move to guard.

24. Steelers – Chase Minnifield – CB – Virginia

– Minnifield’s stock took a huge hit at the combine when he measured in at 5’10 after being listed at 6’0 by Virginia. Pittsburgh might take Minnifield due to his bloodlines in the NFL.

25. Broncos – Joe Adams – WR – Arkansas

– Denver likes it’s young WR’s in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas but adding a slot WR like Adams would give them a dangerous return game.

26. Eagles(from Texans) – Marvin McNutt – WR – Iowa

– Marvin McNutt may have trouble seperating from DB’s in the NFL but he shouldn’t face the opposing team’s number one corner with Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson lining up on the Eagles offense.

27. Saints – Jared Crick – DE – Nebraska

– New Orleans needs depth at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Crick would be the primary backup at end while moving inside on passing downs.

28. Packers – Nick Toon – WR – Wisconsin

– Another guy with NFL bloodlines is Nick Toon. Green Bay needs to find another receiver to pair with Greg Jennings and Randall Cobb.

29. Lions(from Ravens) – Markelle Martin – S – Oklahoma St.

– Markelle Martin would be good value this late in the third round. Detroit needs a starter at safety opposite Louis Delmas.

30. 49ers – Orson Charles – TE – Georgia

– Jim Harbaugh seems to want to use more two tight end formations with the 49ers like he did when he was at Stanford.

31. Patriots – Chris Polk – RB – Washington

– Stevan Ridley proved to be a surprise last year averaging over 5 yards per carry. With the "Law Firm" off to the Bengals, depth at RB could be addresed sometime in the draft.

32. Giants – Michael Egnew – TE – Missouri

– Even with the signing of Martellus Bennett, the Giants should add a tight end early in the draft with Travis Beckum and Jake Ballard suffering injuries in the Super Bowl.

33. Raiders(comp) – Bruce Irvin – DE/OLB – West Virginia

– Oakland is moving to the 3-4 defense and with Kamerion Wimbley cut and off to the Titans, depth is needed at rush linebacker.
