2013 NFL Mock Draft by Tony | Picks 25-32
25. Minnesota Vikings- Jesse Williams DT
The Vikings are going to need someone to replace Kevin Williams in the near future, but for now, the other Williams can play right next to him. He’s a solid DT who played for Bama, the Mecca of defense.
26. Green Bay Packers- Bjoern Werner DE
The Packers live for taking the best player available, and I think they might think Werner fits that bill. I’m thinking he would bulk up to play 3-4 end, as he doesn’t project well as a rush
linebacker.
27. Houston Texans- Jonathan Cyprien S
The Texans would love to select a wide receiver, but none if the remaining ones grade out to a first rounder. Cyprien is a bit of an unknown commodity, but he’s a spectacular safety, which is also a huge need for them.
28. Denver Broncos- Tyler Eifert TE
I was going to slot a cornerback here, but I think Darrelle Revis is still in play for Denver. In that case, Denver should just go best player available. I know, I know. They already have 3 excellent wide receivers, but wow. Can you imagine how potent this offense would be with Tyler Eifert added? The AFC just collectively shit themselves.
29. New England Patriots- Datone Jones DE/LB
The Patriots have a solid all around team, but even Darth Hoodie and the crew have their weaknesses. Datone Jones would bolster the pass rush, which has been a concern since the 2007 team.
Man, I’m getting chills reminiscing about how amazing that team was. Too bad David Tyree spoiled it. Oh, and Eric Mangini for being a whistle blower.
30. Atlanta Falcons- Tank Carradine DE
John Abraham isn’t coming back, and his double digit sacks a year will be missed.
Carradine has been making strides toward becoming a first rounder, after an injury plagued season. Scouts have raved about him, so I think a team will take a chance on him in round one.
31. San Francisco 49ers- Matt Elam S
Dashon Goldson has departed, leaving a huge void at the safety position. I think the Niners would rather have Cyprien fall to them, but I think Matt Elam will evolve into a formidable player.
32. Baltimore Ravens- Kevin Minter ILB
Obtaining Elvis Dumervil shores up the pass rush, but there’s some guy named Ray Lewis who needs replaced. Minter showed leadership abilities at LSU and that is a skill that the Ravens covet.
