Elisha’s final picks of the 2013 NFL Mock Draft first round
2013 NFL Mock Draft Pick | 25-32
25 – SEA: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
Seattle’s defense might be the best in the league but they still could use some interior pass-rush to make it even better. Jones can step in right away and help the Seahawks defense get after the Quarterback.
26 – GB: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
Recent DUI and a so-so combine will allow Ogletree to drop to the Packers. Ogletree is obviously familiar with the 3-4 defense as he played it in college and he would give the Packers some athleticism at ILB which is something they desperately need.
27 – HOU: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
The Texans already have a superstar outside receiver in Andre Johnson but they don’t have a reliable slot-receiver. Austin might be the most talented receiver and after running an unofficial 4.25 in the combine he might also be the fastest. Austin could also help the Texans in the return game.
28 – DEN: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
It is time for the Broncos to draft Champ Bailey’s successor. Banks might not have an immediate impact but after a year under Bailey’s wings could really help him develop into a shut-down corner.
29 – NE: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
The Patriots secondary needs fixing and while I don’t think Elam should be a 1st round pick the Pats might have to reach in order to get him. I think there’s a good chance that New England will trade this pick.
30 – ATL: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
A terrible combine drops Moore to the falcons where they will race to the podium to snatch him up. The Falcons need a pass-rusher to complement John Abrams and Moore fits well into their scheme.
31 – SF: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
I think the 49ers will trade up at some point in this draft but if they don’t do it in the 1st round Hankins might be the guy here. Justin Smith is getting older and outside of Aldon Smith their pass-rush was not special. Hankins has special quickness for a guy his size and could immediately upgrade the 49ers d-line.
32 – BAL: Arthur Brown, ILB, Kansas State
The Ravens need a replacement for Ray Lewis. Brown has a great football IQ, solid instincts, and above average strength. I don’t know if Brown can cry at any given time but I do know that he fits the Ravens top need, which is a long-term, play-making ILB.
