Tyler’s 2013 NFL Mock Draft | Round 2

Tyler’s Round 2 Redraft

  1. Jacksonville-Johnathan Cyprien, S, Florida Int-Jacksonville went for an elite player, but that elite player will be playing RT next year, a position that could have been found later or via free agency. There will be many elite LT’s coming out next year as well. Let’s assume Jacksonville it taking the top talent available, Cyprien covers a ton of ground and this secondary is very poor.
  2. San Francisco(via Kansas City)-Jesse Williams, NT, Alabama-The Niner’s nabbed an athletic Eric Reid in the first. Williams may be a permanent fixture at the NT position for years to come.
  3. Philadelphia-Geno Smith, QB, W. Virginia-After taking a franchise LT, Lane Johnson, Philly can afford to take a QB of the future.
  4. Detroit-Menelik Watson, T, Florida St.-After sealing the D line with Ansah, Detroit will look to address their O line with the best talent available.
  5. Cincinnati(via Oakland)-Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama-The selection of Eifert brings yet another top notch playmaker to the offense. Marvin Lewis is said to be very high on Lacy, who could be a three down RB in this west coast scheme.
  6. Arizona-Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford-After nabbing Cooper to plug the middle, Arizona will need another outlet for Palmer. The regime is high on Housler, who they seem as more of an athletic receiver. Ertz provides more balance and a big target.
  7. Cleveland-Forfeit
  8. New York Jets-Robert Woods, WR, USC-With yet another end in Richardson, and a CB, do the Jets plan on moving to a 43 D? Will Coples stand up and rush the passer as a LB? The Jets need at least one reliable pass catcher. Gordon is developing and Holmes isn’t getting any younger.
  9. Tennessee-Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi St.-Taking Warmack gives the Titans one of the best lines in the NFL. Now to fix the secondary. Banks is a big, rangy athlete who is disruptive and a heavy hitter.
  10. Buffalo-Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee-Apparently E.J. Manuel is the QB of the future, and he needs talent around him. Nix covets speed and athleticism. Hunter is a large body with explosion.
  11. Oakland via Miami-Margus Hunt, DE, SMU-Al Davis’ brother must have switched the pick, because in no way is D.J. Hayden an enormous value for a team with so many holes. After the first round, there is no telling what the Raiders will do next. They need a pass rusher and Hunt is has tremendous potential and can play on the end, and along the interior in certain situations.
  12. Tampa Bay-Matt Barkley, QB, USC-Tampa has receivers, an okay line, and Revis. The coaching staff isn’t sold on Freeman and will need competition, if not a viable backup if Freeman fails again.
  13. Carolina-Larry Warford, G, Kentucky-After stealing Lotulelei in the first, Carolina needs to find Newton weapons. With a porous line, perhaps the biggest weapon for Newton is a tough, mobile guard.
  14. New Orleans-Forfeit
  15. San Diego-Terron Armstead, T, Arkansas PB-Fluker will make a very stout G or RT, but that still leaves an enormous hole at LT. Armstead is the most athletic prospect left, and perhaps one of the few talents left in the draft who can play LT.
  16. Buffalo via St. Louis-Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas St.-With E.J. Manuel and Hunter in tow, perhaps it’s time to find a hitter in the middle of their talent defense.
