11. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College
This team needs O-line help and bad so they will look their but with one of the best players in the draft sitting in front they’ll address the defense. This defense has a hole in the middle that you can drive two busses through. They like Fletcher Cox but he is gone. Keuchly is a tackling machine! A pure animal that loves the game of football. Luke is the type of LB every team dreams of tough and smart. This defense needs a leader and Keuchly will bring that .
12. Seattle Seahawks: Melvin Ingram, DE, S Carolina
Sneaky Pete is still at it in the rainy city. There’s a lot of ways he can go but I think he’ll get his defense in a good position. This will help his new young QB Matt Flynn. Ingram provides a team with a lot of options that he can play inside and out. Pete Carolls dream! .
13. Arizona Cardinals: David DeCastro, G, Stanford
What doesn’t Arizona need? They are far away from their Super Bowl team. Larry Fitzgerald is true to the team that drafted him and that is impressive. It’s sad he’ll never get a ring. The Cards only chance no matter who the QB they decide on; is to get the damn ball to Fitz. The QB has to stand for that to happen and DeCastro is an incredible interior lineman that can play many positions. Just what the Cards need.
14. Dallas Cowboys: Mark Barron, S, Alabama
America’s team needs some defensive secondary help. They may even move up a few slots to make sure he is their guy. Dre Kirkpatrick is versatile enough to play both positions and grow into a role but they take a pure S in a weak class. Not to mention the big boss man in the Big D loves him.
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis
E A G L E S ok sorry some teams like to spell their names. Well the dream team of the NFL was a bust last season. We’ll see what they can do this year. They pulled off a great trade to upgrade MLB. They have secondary questions and with the ability to trade a CB who knows what they will do. Kirkpatrick is a stud but CB can be filled later. I think they go after one of the Big DT’s and get the athletic freak from Memphis.
16. New York Jets: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
J E T S sorry couldn’t resist back to back NFL Spelling B moments. The Jets are falling apart and Tim Tebow will bring some leadership and direction but, there are just too many egos on this team. That being said the Jets win with defense and they need to get back there. This is a D selection hands down. There’s some great DE’s available and a nasty Bama LB and they need both positions but having Couples drop in their lap will be too much for Rex Ryan to pass up.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Cordy Glenn, G, Georgia
The Bengals have some holes and question marks but not as many as they once did. Andy Dalton impressed me and AJ Green is a legit target they will go offensive line here and take their chances at one of two CB’ s a few picks down. Glenn has flew up the boards with his performance at the combine and his versatility.
18. San Diego Chargers: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
If anyone can draft horrible players in the first round it’s San Diego. I like Reiff at this spot. Without his star receiver Phillip Rivers will need the extra time back there to find a new favorite target. Reiff can provide that he was very solid for the Hawkeyes.
19. Chicago Bears: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
DA BEARS … DA BULLS…. Knox’s health is in question and Cutler needs more targets to take some of the workload off of Forte. Marshall is no given either! Keeping Cutler upright is the big concern however. No one gets hit more than Cutler besides maybe Big Ben.
20. Tennessee Titans: Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois
Well Tennessee sold out hoping to get Manning they didn’t now they have to move on with two disgruntled QB’s. CJ is not his old self since getting his pay day. They need some WR help but I think they go conservative and get a freakish DE to get that D going again.
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
They will probably have their choice of 2 CB’s here with Jenkins on the board but, with previous character concerns with both there is no surprise the Bengals are picking one..Kirkpatrick is a physical freak and can contribute right away.
