2018 NFL Mock Draft | Round 2 and 3
1. Cleveland-Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn-Davis is a big bodied corner that uses his size to be
aggressive with receivers. Gregg Williams covets these type of corners.2. NY Giants-Maurice Hurst, DE, Michigan-Hurst is vastly undersized to be an every down DT, and
isn’t a fit as 43 DE. With such an amazing burst and first step, he will make a great 5 tech end
for Bettcher’s 34 defense.
3. Cleveland(via Houston)-Justin Reid, FS, Stanford-Reid can absolutely get into the 1 st round. With
Peppers needing to be a SS, putting Reid at FS really makes this secondary special.
4. Indianapolis-Obo Okoronkwo, LB, Oklahoma-Though not the largest, Obo is an elite pass rusher.
The Colts have interviewed him, and with one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL, Obo is a
logical pick.
5. NY Jets-Martinas Rankin, T, Mississippi St.-Rankin is very fundamental and athletic, but lacks the
natural size and strength to be a first rounder. Rankin can be a serviceable LT. His selection
pushes Beachum to the right side.
6. Tampa Bay-Sony Michel, RB, Georgia-Michel is an elite runner and could have carried Georgia to
the National Championship. His versatility will take the heat off of Winston.
7. Chicago-Simmie Cobbs, WR, Indiana-The combine could propel Cobbs into the 1 st . He’s a
galloping receiver with reliable hands and great size.8. Denver-Leighton Vander Esch, ILB, Boise St.-Vander Esch is a ballhawk who makes spectacular
plays. Some feel he’ll be a SLB or even 34 LB. His athleticism and instinct will make him a killer
ILB in this talented defense.
9. Oakland-Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama-No one doubts the talent of Evans, but sometime his
production fell off the table, and it’s not solely due to injury.
10. Miami-Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma-The Fins have no idea what they have in Derby. This year
is all about seeing if Tannehill is the guy, so they’ll give him a pass catching receiver, which they
need anyway, especially if Landry walks.
11. New England(via San Fran)-Harold Landry, LB, Boston College-The Pats aren’t afraid to draft
tweener pass rushers, look what they were able to do with Jamie Collins. Landry will be looking
for a position, but he’s very talented and coachable.
12. Washington-Equanimeous St. Brown, WR, Notre Dame-What sets St. Brown off from other
receivers is his size and route running ability. He’ll be the first truly polished receiver Gruden
has coached since A.J. Green.
13. Green Bay-Dorance Armstrong, LB, Kansas-An unproductive season has scouts down on
Armstrong. Possibly the only Kansas player who knew how to play football, he was often double
teamed and chipped by a third blocker.
14. Cincinnati-Isaiah Wynn, G/T, Georgia-One of the top LT’s in the nation, Wynn’s size will push him
inside. Some feel he has the balance to be a C in the NFL if needed.
15. Arizona-Auden Tate, WR, Florida St.-Tate should wow at the combine and post combine
workouts. He was a product of horrendous QB play this year.
16. LA Chargers-Kolton Miller, T, UCLA-The Bolts continue to build their O line. Miller is the future
at LT, but will easily unseat Barksdale on the right side.
17. NY Jets(via Seattle)-Duke Ejiofor, LB, Wake Forest-A pass rush specialist, Ejiofor could sneak into
the 1 st . The Jets and Todd Bowles desperately need a rocket off of the edge.
18. Dallas-Taven Bryan, DT, Florida-Bryan’s fate will be sealed at the combine. A one trick pass
rushing pony, he’ll need to have a decent weigh in and display functional strength.
19. Detroit-Ronnie Harrison, SS, Alabama-You can certainly do worse than Diggs at FS, but Harrison
is a value pick at this point and will be a key piece in the success of Patricia’s defense
20. Baltimore-Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama-This has nothing to do with Newsome and his love for
his alma mater. Averett was overlooked in the shadow of Fitzpatrick, but he is a very athletic
and play making corner in his own right. His play in the championship game was eye catching

21. Buffalo-R.J. McIntosh, DT, Miami-It’s obvious Buffalo needs some mustard in the middle of the D
Line. McIntosh is a gap shooting disruptor who can add to the sack total in Buffalo.
22. Kansas City-James Washington, WR, Oklahoma St.-Plays will be drawn up just for the
Washington/Mahomes air raid connection. Not a route runner, with the body of a running back,
Washington shouldn’t make it to the 1 st round, but he super reliable with soft hands.
23. Carolina-Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn-Stewart is fine and all, but the Panthers need a legitimate
three down running back to shoulder the load. Johnson is patient with the line, runs inside and
out, and can catch passes.
24. Buffalo(via LA Rams)-Josh Sweat, DE, Florida St.-Buffalo’s main priority is to find a pass rush.
Sweat has been ultra productive over his career.
25. Tennessee-Braden Smith, G, Auburn-Smith is a very reliable guard who has opened up holes all
year for one of the most prominent rush offenses in the country.
26. Atlanta-Harrison Phillips, DT, Stanford-Phillips needs a lot of work on his pass rushing moves, but
he’s a punishing DT that will create Havoc.
27. San Francisco(via New Orleans)-Auden Tate, WR, Florida St.-Tate’s lack of production is due to
poor QB play. He’s a gifted playmaker who just needs a little coaching.
28. Pittsburgh-Tarvarus McFadden, CB, Florida St.-McFadden is often burnt by speed receivers, but
Pittsburgh wants their corners physical and aggressive, and no one is better at that than
McFadden.
29. Jacksonville-Malik Jefferson, LB, Texas-Posluszny is probably gone and Jacksonville can ill afford
to stop this D from rolling. Jefferson or Jack can man the inside, but a talent like Jefferson is
needed to complete the LB corps.
30. Minnesota-Trenton Thompson, DT, Georgia-T. Johnson/Floyd are most likely gone, and unless J.
Johnson improves, Minnesota will have a glaring holes on their D line. Thompson constantly
improved over the 2017 season.
31. Cleveland(via Philly)-Chuckwuma Okorafor, T, W. Michigan-Another LT that needs a NFL weight
room, Okorafor has the talent to be the LT of the future, or the present if Thomas leaves.
32. New England-Tanner Lee, QB, Nebraska-Lee is a pro style QB, with decent size, and a stellar arm.
The Pats may take a long look at him, especially with no backup to Brady.
