2016 NFL Mock Draft by Larry Burgess
Updated 04/08/2016
Round 1
1 Ten DB Jalen Ramsey If Titans needed a LT, Tunsil would be pick hands down, but developing their D makes more sense
2 Cle QB Carson Wentz All reports indicate that he’s the most NFL ready QB in the draft
3 SD DE Joey Bosa Bolstering the defensive line with the top value pick in the draft at this position makes sense
4 Dal OT Laremy Tunsil Developing the best offensive line in the league seems consistent with team goals
5 Jax LB Myles Jack Bolstering the linebacker corp seems to make the most sense with defensive line improved
6 Bal DE Shaq Lawson An edge rusher this good can’t drop too much lower, and he seems like a great fit with Ravens
7 SF QB Jared Goff Seems like a great long term fit for the 49ers
8 Phl DE Noah Spence Adding an edge rusher that can really get after the opposing QB seems like a priority
9 TB OT Ronnie Stanley Building the O-line for long term stability makes a lot of sense
10 NYG WR Laquan Treadwell Improving the receiving corp to keep defenses honest makes a lot sense to me
11 Chi DE DeForest Buckner This pick makes the defense a force
12 NO DT A’Shawn Robinson The line has to be bolstered, seems like the best overall fit
13 Mia RB Ezekiel Elliott With Lamar Miller gone, RJ Anderson taken back, they grab Elliott
14 Oak LB Reggie Ragland Would seem to be an anchor to the defense
15 LA QB Paxton Lynch Getting their franchise QB seems to still be a possibility with this pick
16 Det OT Jack Conklin Improving the offensive line is Job #1, he’ll play RT and provide insurance if Reiff departs in ’17
17 Atl DT Sheldon Rankins Adding to the defensive line seems prudent
18 Ind CB Vernon Hargreaves This seems like a steal as the best CB in the draft falls this far
19 Buf DE Kevin Dodd A replacement for the departing Williams seems to make sense
20 NYJ CB Mackensie Alexander Bolstering the secondary I think becomes the top priority
21 Was DT Andrew Billings A big DT seems to fit their needs, but there are lots to choose from
22 Hou WR Corey Coleman Another piece of the quickly developing offense is added
23 Min WR Josh Doctson Seems to be mentioned a lot in connection with Minnesota
24 Cin DT Robert Nkemdiche I think this is a good compliment to Gino Atkins
25 Pit DT Andrew Billings Getting a centerpiece to the defensive line seems like the priority
26 Sea LB Darron Lee Replacing Bruce Irvin makes sense, and Lee might be a real stud
27 GB DT Jarran Reed Replacing Raji makes sense, and Reed is an excellent choice
28 KC CB Eli Apple Replaces Sean Smith although still raw and will need time to develop
29 Ari OT Taylor Decker Restocking the offensive line is a top priority
30 Car CB William Jackson Restocking the secondary that is aging seems like the best value
31 Den QB Connor Cook Seems like the QB position has to be addressed and the best option is Cook
Round 2
32 Cle OC Ryan Kelly Kelly replaces All Pro Mack
33 Ten OT Jason Spriggs Instead of getting Tunsil they can still grab a top OT in the 2nd round
34 Dal DE Emmanual Ogbah Dallas gets a top DE to replenish their D line after losing Hardy
35 SD LB Jaylon Smith The premier LB is worth waiting for
36 Bal OT Germain Ifedi Restocking the offensive line is definitely a priority
37 SF DE Jonathan Bullard High value pick chosen over other needs
38 Jax OT Shon Coleman Getting offensive line help is always in style and the tackles need competition
39 TB WR Michael Thomas Getting another offensive weapon for the passing game seems like a priority
40 NYG RB Derrick Henry Stocking the offense after addressing the D in free agency seems like a smart move
41 Chi WR Will Fuller Although Kevin White returns adding another top receiver seems like an excellent value
42 Mia LB Leonard Floyd Getting Floyd this late in the draft is a value that is hardly to be believed
43 LA WR Tyler Boyd Boyd fills the need for a top receiver
44 Oak DT Vernon Butler Outstanding value pick
45 LA DT Kenny Clark Another outstanding value pick to get a partner fo go with Donald
46 Det DE Shilique Calhoun Getting a solid #3 DE has to be a high priority
47 NO CB Kendall Fuller Developing a stronger secondary is always in fashion and Fuller is a good value
48 Ind OG Cody Whitehair Protecting the QB and building the O-line have to be given attention and Whitehair is a great value
49 Buf DE Carl Nassib A bit of a reach but getting another DE is a high priority to rebuild the rush
50 Atl SS Vonn Bell A good value here to help deepen the secondary
51 NYJ DT Austin Johnson Replacing Hutchinson is definitely a priority and Johnson fills the bill
52 Hou SS Jeremy Cash Seems like a strong addition to the secondary can be made by this pick
53 Was RB Devontae Booker Seems like the running back position needs to be restocked to protect Cousins
54 Min DT Adolphus Washington Adding more depth to the D-line seems like the next priority
55 Cin WR Pharoh Cooper Solid value pick at a position needing more depth
56 Sea OT Le’Raven Clark Getting the next best OT to help recover from the loss of Okung has to be high on the priorities list
57 GB CB Artie Burns Replacing CB Hayward seems to make Burns a perfect fit at this spot
58 Pit CB Xavien Howard I think gettng the next best CB on the board seems like the right step
59 KC DE Kamelei Correa A bit of a reach, but with Houston perhaps missing all of 2016 rushing help is a priority
60 NE ILB Kentrell Brothers A position of need gets addressed with a very high value pick – typical Patriot luck
61 NE WR Sterling Shepard Adding a quick WR seems like good insurance for the offense
62 Car TE Hunter Henry This would be a value pick, but might be an interesting pick too
63 Den DT Chris Jones Might be part of the answer to help replace Jackson
