Ian’s 2014 NFL Mock Draft
05/07/14
1) Houston Texans – Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina.
Nobody would be shocked
to see Bill O’Brien take a QB with the top pick, but Clowney has too much natural
talent to pass up. Opposing Quarterbacks will have nightmares of a potential JJ Watt
and Clowney pass rush duo.
2) St. Louis Rams – Sammy Watkins WR Clemson.
For same Bradford to succeed, the
Rams really need to find him some weapons. Offensive tackle is also an option with
Jake Long coming off a major injury.
3) Jacksonville Jaguars – Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M.
Henne has been a solid stop
gap guy for the Jags, but Blaine Gabbert has been a major disappointment since
being taken in the first round a few years ago. Manziel will come in with a chip on his
shoulder after not being the number one overall pick.
4) Cleveland Browns – Blake Bortles QB Central Florida.
Bortles is big, has a strong
arm, and is pretty athletic. The Browns already have some weapons with Josh
Gordon and Jordan Cameron in place and an extra 1st rounder in this draft to keep
adding to their solid group of young talent.
5) Oakland Raiders – Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville.
For the majority of the season
Bridgewater was the top QB in this draft, despite not being the first one taken he did
end up in the top 5. McGloin and Pryor were both unspectacular this season and
Bridgewater would be an instant upgrade.
