2012 NFL Draft Underclassmen

Updated on 01/08/2012. The Top Underclassmen that are declaring for the 2012 NFL Mock Draft are listed below. To see where I have them going in my most up to date NFL Mock Draft please go to http://newnfldraft.com

Andrew LuckHe is the biggest lock in the last decade to be the first overall selection in an NFL Draft. With that being said I think he made the correct decision to declare for the 2012 NFL Draft.

Robert Griffin III… I think all said and done someone ends up trading up to either the 2nd overall or 3rd overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft for RGIII. So I think it wouldn’t make any sense for him not to declare of the NFL Draft.

Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson.. I see Dwayne Allen as the top rated Tight End in this 2012 NFL Draft class so I think it was the correct Decision

Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College … Luke is the top rated ILB in my 2012 NFL Mock Draft and I see him as a top 15 pick in this mock draft… Good Decision

Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State …He could definitely use another year at the collegiate level. However, he didn’t like what was going on at the Coaching so he is going pro and I think he could be a future starter in the NFL.

David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech … Wilson will most likely be a 2nd-3rd round selection in the NFL Draft. With that being said it is usually a good move for RB’s declare if they are going to be in the first three rounds because they are only going to take more and more hits.

Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina.. I think that Gilmore made the correct decision. It is an ok CB class this year and he is right in the 1st round mix. At the latest I see him going in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina… I think it was the correct decision because as long as he doesn’t come in over weight to the combine he will be a first round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft. With that being said I think he has the most upside out of every Wide Receiver in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State.. Worthy has the ability to be a starter at the NFL level. However, he is criticized for his work ethic. I think it is a good move for Worthy to go pro but I think he has to convince GM’s that he will give his all on every play or he will be a 2nd round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech … I like the decision of Hosley to declare. He is another one of the borderline CB’s and I think he will be a good pro and returner right away in the NFL.

Donte Paige-Moss, DE, North Carolina.. Bad decision. Though if he went back it may not have changed because on the path he was on he might have been kicked out. With that being said he has a lot of potential but he has to go to the right place that is going to give him time to heal from his injury and progress in the NFL. It’s crazy how you can talk about people at the beginning of the year as a top 10 selection and then you have them as a nearly undrafted player.

Vontaze Burfict, ILB, Arizona State… Burfict was considered at one point to be the top rated ILB by most people. However, at this point I would say he is the 2nd or 3rd best ILB in the 2012 NFL Draft. With that being said I think it was still the right move for him to go pro and he will be a starter in the NFL.

Fletcher Cox, DE/DT, Mississippi State…. Good Player and good decision to go pro.

Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford.. He is going to be a mid to late first round selection in the 2012 NFL Mock Draft. Every year there is a run on Offensive Tackles and Martin will benefit from that this year with his extreme athleticism.

Whitney Mercilus, DE/OLB, Illinois… Lead the country in sacks and I think he will be a top 15 pick when it is all set and done. A lot of people have him as this years Aldon Smith.

Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa…. Reiff made a good decision see Jonathan Martins description

Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers ….With this years receiver class I could see him being a late first round early 2nd round selection. I see Blackmon, Floyd and Jeffery going before him but that’s it.

Chris Polk, RB, Washington….Once again at the RB position you have to go when you have a good year. Montee Ball made the wrong decision Polk made the correct on. Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse. Jones is a good athlete and could be the highest SU selection in years.

Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State …Blackmon is a lock to be a top 10 pick unless he runs a 5 second 40 at the Combine.

David DeCastro, G, Stanford… Good decision as he is going to be a top 25 selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Marcus Forston, DT, Miami… Forston is a skilled Defensive Tackle that is most likely a 2nd round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

LaMichael James, RB, Oregon… A lot of people compare him to Darren Sproles. With that being said I think that if he was as good as Sproles he would be a first round selection in this 2012 NFL Draft. All said and done I don’t think he is going to be as good coming in and therefore I think he is a second to third round selection.

Matt Kalil, OT, USC… A lock to be a top 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft so he made the correct decision.

Ronnell Lewis, OLB/DE, Oklahoma… Lewis is a pass rusher who is most likely going to be a late first round selection. With that being said I think he made the correct decision.

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami…Another RB and another good decision. In the 2012 NFL Draft I think Miller could be the 2nd RB off the board behind Trent Richardson. The rumor is that he is a sub 4.4 RB and if that is the case I believe he is a first round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC.. He is considered by a lot of people to be the best pass rusher as a Defensive end in the 2012 NFL Draft. Good Decision to go pro.

Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis… Poe is a good Defensive tackle who I see as being a late first round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.
