Round 1 – Round 2 – Round 3 – Round 4 – Round 5
22. Minnesota Vikings: Ciron Black, OT, LSU
The Vikings O-Line is very good but they are started to get a little older. Ciron Black is a great OT that is comes from a great college program. Black could jump up the draft boards after he is examined for the 2009 NFL Draft. Black could come in and play his first year and learn from the veterans and then move to left tackle down the road. Look fro Black to come in and be a great NFL Player and help Peterson continue his path to greatness.
23. Detroit Lions(DAL): Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
This pick is to hard who couldn’t the Lions take in the 2009 NFL Draft. I know a lot of you are saying WR but they definitely could use one now that Williams is on the Cowboys now. However, I have them taking a beast in the Middle who could anchor their defense for years to come. Right now in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft I have Laurinaitis going before Spikes but I think Spikes may jump him and then the Lions might be taking Laurinaitis with this pick.
24. NY Jets: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
The Jets Wide Outs are getting older especially Coles. Percy Harvin isn’t only a great WR but he is a great athlete and he will complement a lot of the guys they already have on the roster. This would give Brett Favre another target to work with as well. I think that the Jets could also try to improve their defense because it has been hit or miss all year in the 2009 season.
25. Atlanta Falcons: Terrence Cody, DT, ‘Bama
Matt Ryan has been very good this year and has done it without a ton of weapons. However, I think if they improve the defense then this team can be a top of the line team for the 2009 season and years to come. Also with this pick I think they could go after Brandon Pettigrew to both help with blocking as well as give Matt Ryan another weapon to throw to. However, with the TE’s in this draft I think they can wait until the 2nd or 3rd round in the 2009 NFL Draft.
26. Indianapolis Colts: Sen’Derrick Marks, DT, Auburn
This team ended the year very well and ended up making the playoffs. Their biggest weakness still is that they are unable to stop the run especially when Sanders was out. Marks is a great DT that will be able to help stop the run as well as put some pressure on the QB.
27. Baltimore Ravens: Brian Cushing, OLB, USC
The Ravens are really good defensively but they are getting older every year. With Brian Cushing they could make the defense younger while adding an outstanding player for years to come. The Ravens could also help themselves by taking a WR to make them younger and help out their young QB.
28. TB Buccaneers: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
The Bucs have been good this year but they could use a boost for the Offensive Line. Their run game has been on and off from game to game making them hot and cold themselves. Jason Smith is a great Tackle that could make and immediate impact in the 2009 NFL Season. Also the buccaneers could also go WR and RB because they are fairly aged at both of these positions.
29. Philadelphia Eagles(Car): Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Ok St
The Eagles don’t really have a real weapon at the TE position but Pettigrew is just that. Pettigrew can both block and catch as well as any other tight end in the 2009 NFL Draft. Look for Pettigrew to at least be in the top 20 of the 2009 NFL Draft.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Duke Robinson, G, OU
The Steelers have had problems up front ever since Alan Faneca has gone. Duke Robinson is a huge Offensive Guard that would have an immediate impact in the 2009 season. Not only will he help with run blocking but he could also keep some pressure off of Big Ben. Robinson will be an immediate starter and immediate impact for both the running and passing game.
31. Tennessee Titans: Trevard Lindley, CB, UK
Nick Harper is getting older and the Titans are going to be replacing him in the next couple years. Fisher takes a great CB here in the 2009 NFL Draft and they groom him for the future. Lindley is a great player that will fit in well with a great defense for the future. Also if they aren’t able to keep Haynesworth they will most likely look to get a DT to replace him with this pick for the 2009 season.
32. NY Giants: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Mizzou
The NY Giants are a good team but they no longer have a number 1 receiver now that Burress is going to be off the team. So I have them taking a great play maker in the Jeremy Maclin who can both return kicks as well as be a top tier receiver. With another good receiver the Giants would be a great team for years to come because they are young and skilled.
