22. Atlanta Falcons: Terrence Cody, DT, Bama
The Falcons have been very surprisingly good this year. Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White have all been very good this season. So I say they need to help improve the defense for the 2009 NFL Season. They do this by taking the Big Terrence Cody to fill the middle and plug it up. Look for the Falcons to be good for the next decade with the team they currently have.
23. Chicago Bears: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Mizzou
The Bears have been having a good offensive year compared to what was expected. Orton has been very good so far and he has made some great plays with some average WR’s. I think if they improve their receiving core they will help Orton and Forte because they will take pressure off of both of them. Look for the Bears to step up in the next couple years while their defense is still good and make a run for the championship. I think that Maclin would be a good fit for the Bears especially picking this late in the 2009 NFL Draft.
24. Arizona Cardinals: Duke Robinson, G, Oklahoma
The Cardinals need to improve a couple aspects of their game for the 2009 NFL Season. Duke Robinson is a great Guard who can play any of the Offensive Line positions. He will help the Cardinals in the 2009 NFL Season with protection and also making holes for the up and coming Tim Hightower. Look for Robinson to make an immediate impact on the offensive line and the Run game.
25. Baltimore Ravens: Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, MD
The Ravens don’t have any great options for Joe Flacco to throw to. They have a lot of good Receivers but none of them are real big and none of them are great targets. Look for the Ravens to help him out and take the big, athletic, wide receiver out of Maryland. Bey could be a huge impact for the 2009 season because he will be a big target to relieve Flacco and also be a deep threat for him.
26. Philadelphia Eagles: Ciron Black, OT, LSU
The Eagles have been good this year but not great. I am writing this draft while I am watching the LSU V. Alabama game and I am watching Ciron Black play very well. He is a big guy that can move and would be good in the screen offense that the Eagles run so often. Look for them to go with Black because they are getting old on the O-Line and they need to get younger in order to protect McNabb and make holes for Brian Westbrook.
27. TB Buccaneers: Percy Harvin, WR, FL
The Bucs do not have a home run hitter on the offense under 30 years old and that is a problem for them. Harvin is a great athlete and I can see him coming into the NFL and having a very good season similar to Desean Jackson’s so far. Harvin is a great athlete and he will be a good fit for this team because he can stretch the field as good as anyone else in the game. He will be a good fit for the Bucs and will be an immediate impact in the 2009 NFL Season.
28. Washington Redskins: Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky
The Skins need to get younger in their secondary and Lindley will do exactly that. Look for him to come in and get some nickel and dime time that will later take over in the 2010 season or so. I think that the Skins are a very good team and as they mature they will just keep getting better and better. The 2009 Season could be a good one for the Skins.
29. Philadelphia Eagles (From Carolina): Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Ok St.
The Eagles already addressed the Offensive line so they go with a Receiver for Mcnabb. Pettigrew is both a great Blocker and Receiving TE from OK. State. Look for Pettigrew to come in and make something happen in the Red Zone for the Eagles. Also look for Travis Beckum to jump up the charts if he works out well at the 2009 NFL Combine.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers: D.J. Moore, CB, Vandy
The Steelers have been very good this year they just need to stop getting injured. The 2009 NFL Season could be another super bowl one if they can all stay healthy. I have them going with the player that will benefit them the most and that is a fast CB. Moore is a great athlete that will fit in well with the Steelers and will be a starter probably half way through the 2009 NFL Season.
31. NY Giants: Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
The Giants are a very good team that is looking really good again this year. I think they go with Aaron Curry to be able to play the LB/DE position and help them to continue put pressure on the QB. Curry will definately see some field time in the 2009 season especially on pass rushing packages.
32. Tennessee Titans: Jauquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma
The Titans are having a great year by running the ball and play power football. Kerry Collins is playing well with a lot of average to below average WR’s. I think if they can get a playmaker down field they will open up the run game even more and that is why I have them taking Iglesias. He is fast, athletic and a big target for both Collins and Young. I think the Titans will be good again in the 2009 NFL Season because they are a very tough team Iglesias could be the guy taking them from good to great. I also think they could go DT to back up Haynesworth and help on the inside.
