2012 NFL Mock Draft | 9-16

9. Carolina Panthers: Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, S Carolina

2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Defensive End/OLB

I know that some people seem to be comparing Quinton Coples with Julius Peppers because of their position and the college that they went to. With that being said I think the Peppers has much more athleticism and shows it by his position versatility. In this class the player that I would say is closer to Peppers than Coples would be Melvin Ingram. I know I know you are going to say that he is 4 inches shorter than him and so on and so forth. What I mean is there athleticism, ability to get after the QB and neither of them seem to ever give up on a play. This is the reason that I think Melvin Ingram would be a good fit for the Panthers in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

10. Buffalo Bills: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Offensive Tackle

The Buffalo Bills have addressed the defensive line in free agency so they need to fill other needs in this 2012 NFL Mock draft. I see those needs to be Offensive Line, Wide Receiver and Secondary help. So with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft I have them addressing the offensive line position with a guy who can come in right away and start at right tackle for the Bills .

11. Kansas City Chiefs: Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis

2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Defensive Tackle

The Chiefs could opt for either one of the top tier pass rushers or David DeCastro with this 2012 NFL Mock Draft selection. I do not see them going that route if they could get one of the better defensive tackles in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. Poe is seen to have the most upside of any DT in this draft class and I would be surprised after his combine if he falls out of the top 25 .

12. Seattle Seahawks: Quinton Coples, DE, UNC

2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Defensive End

The Seattle Seahawks get one of the best overall players in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. He is seen by some to take plays off so he falls out of the top 10 in this most recent 2012 NFL Mock Draft update. But all said and done the Seahawks are happy to have him here.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

2012 NFL Mock Draft #1 Guard

This may not be the biggest need for the Cardinals in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. They could go with a player like David DeCastro here or one of the other top available players. I however think they need to get a top tier receiver to play opposite Fitzgerald and Floyd would be a great fit and a bit of a steal this late in the 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

14. Dallas Cowboys: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB/S, Alabama

2012 NFL Mock Draft #3 Cornerback

The Cowboys need to build their defense in this 2012 NFL Draft. Kirkpatrick did not have a great combine but what he did do was show versatility. Due to his size and physicality a lot of scouts are putting him in to more of the safety category than the CB category. This is still a perfect selection for the Cowboys because they need help at both positions .

15. Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College

2012 NFL Mock Draft #2 Offensive Tackle

The Eagles have addressed the loss of Jason Peter with Bell in the offseason. I think that there is still an option that they could take an offensive lineman with this 15th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. With this selection I have them taking Luke Kuechly because he is a play maker at the linebacker position and they need to improve their defense in nearly every way possible.

16. New York Jets: Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, ‘Bama

2012 NFL Mock Draft Defensive End/ OLB

I previously had the Jets taking Melvin Ingram with this 16th overall selection in the 2012 NFL Mock Draft. He is now long gone so they need to decide who they will want now. I think that while Courtney Upshaw may not be as athletic as Ingram he still have a lot of versatility on the defensive side of the ball. So I think that Rex Ryan would still love to have him and play around with him on the defensive line and at the linebacker position much like Alabama did with him.
