2008 NFL Draft Team Need Updates

1. Dolphins
   1. Well seeing as how they have the first pick in the Draft they have a lot of team needs. I would say QB here because Cleo Lemon is their starter but they drafted Beck last year and before they go with another guy they are going to test him out. So here I would say Offensive Tackle is very important for both passing time and run blocking for the now out for the season Ronnie Brown. Secondary needs are defensive ends, LB’s and CB. Also because Brown is Injured there is also a need for RB (maybe to share time with Brown)

2. Rams
   1. The Rams are struggling this year big time, they have a lot of weapons they just can’t put them altogether. Well they have a lot of needs. First things first Defense is a big need. Defensive end and Linebacker mostly. Then offensively Pace is injured so look for them to pick up an elite Tackle if one is available. In the mid to late rounds they could use some receivers seeing as their receiving crew is getting pretty old.
3. Jets
   1. The Jets usually seem to surprise people and go about 500 but this year they aren’t looking so hot. They have an ok back in Thomas Jones and an inconsistent QB with Pennington. In this position the Jets need to improve their offensive line to help Jones and Washington. Also another need which I am not sure when they address it is QB someone to take over for Pennington when he continues to suck. Also look for them to take interior hard nose defensive players because they addressed the secondary last year.
4. Falcons
   1. Well I don’t know are David Carr and Byron Leftwich enough to say they don’t need a QB or are they the short term solution. I look QB in this position because both of these guys have proven they cannot handle carrying a team and that is what you need to do with the Falcons (Vick). Also I see Receiver to also be a big need. Roddy White has stepped up this year but all their receivers are just mediocre if they can get a primetime guy that will be a big help. Lastly, what every team needs an offensive and defensive line. Look for them to address these whenever they can.
5. Bengals

1. 1. Well the Bengals offense is really good for the most part, they have every weapon you could possibly ask for. So look for them to draft the best defensive players available and fill their team with these. Another secondary concern will be a good TE that can take some pressure off of Johnson and TJ. Lastly, Johnson seems unhappy and if he wants out of Cincy also look for them to take a receiver.

6. Bills
   1. The Bills improved their line in the off season and they still suck so look for them to improve their pretty early. Defensively the Ends on the team are terrific so DT and CB are big needs to strengthen the Defense and replace Clements. Also I think the Bills “need” a big receiver or TE that can catch and get open. All they have are short speedy receivers so look for them to get a Tall guy that can get open and score in the red zone.
7. Raiders
   1. The Raiders needs some weapons for Russell to throw to in the near future. Secondly to improve the offensive line can never hurt and protecting the franchise QB’s blindside is essential. Some other secondary needs are DT and OLB.
8. Saints
   1. A lot of people are saying go Defense which makes sense because they have weapons on Offense. But if McFadden falls here I think they should take him and trade McAlister. But if this doesn’t occur look for them to take the best defensive player left.
9. 49ers
   1. The 49er’s need to put more pressure on the QB and a DE is the one to do this. Another big need is to give Alex Smith someone to throw the ball too such as an elite receiver other than the average receivers he has.
10. Vikings
    1. They never can seem to get a real good WR but this year that position is going to be essential to take pressure of Peterson. Also QB could be a huge need if Jackson continues to under produce. For early rounds also look for them to address the Guard and Safety positions.
11. Texans
    1. Their Defense isn’t so good so I look for them to take the best secondary player on the board and mold them. Along with that OLB and Offensive line are some pretty big needs.
12. Ravens
    1. They need another elite CB to help mold this aging Defense. Also they do not have an elite WR either so look for CB and WR to be their picks in the first 2 rounds because they are big needs.
13. Bears
    1. QB because Griese isn’t the long term solution. Then in the early rounds also look for Offensive line because the Bears are not productive on the ground at all this year.

14. Broncos

14. 1. The Broncos need new secondary mostly in the Safety position due to under productivity. Also WR is another big need because Cutler needs some more options. Lastly, an outside concern is the Travis Henry replacement especially if he is banned for a year because of marijuana use.

15. Browns

15. 1. The biggest concern here is finding someone to take over for the aging Jamal Lewis. They have a young talented team all in all but RB is a top need. Along with this improving the defense is a huge concern so look for them to take mostly defensive players starting with the D-Line.

    
    

16. Cardinals

16. 1. RB- Edge is getting old and banged up. DE, OLB,CB- Improve the pass rush on the QB and get some defensive playmakers. They are offensively sound other than RB.

17. Eagles

17. 1. Well the biggest need after the Giants game is clearly offensive line. They cannot stop the sacks and they cannot consistently run the ball. So upgrade across the O-Line. Also another weapon for McNabb would be nice, how about a really good TE to compliment the speedy receivers.

18. Chiefs

18. 1. They don’t have the answer at QB with Huard so this is the first need that comes to my mind. Also Offensive line is huge here as well. They have an awesome RB but he is unable to get any yards or scores because the O-Line isn’t getting the job done up front. A later concern could be to get another receiver to compliment Gonzalez and Bowe.

19. Lions

19. 1. Defense Defense Defense…… Main concerns here are stopping the pass with some stud CB’s and also a MLB to compliment Ernie Sims.

20. Seahawks

20. 1. Shaun Alexander has been very unproductive so I say a top need here is RB and OL. I am not sure if it is on him or the O-Line but both positions can be improved. Also if they can get an elite WR or TE giving Hasselback more options can never hurt. Lastly, if they get a good value QB he could be a need which would take away the QB of the future need as well as Receiver because Seneca Wallace could fit in Nicely at receiver.

21. Panthers

21. 1. The Panthers all around aren’t looking really good this year. So I am just going to list needs TE, S,T, and QB

22. Jaguars

22. 1. Give Garrard someone to throw to. WR is the biggest need because the guy is playing lights out without one good receiver. Also Defensive End is a big need that could help improve a very good defense.

23. Titans

23. 1. The Titans need to give Vince a Big WR to throw to. They have a lot of small receivers so a BIG WR is the first need. Secondly MLB needs to be looked at as well as improving the secondary.

24. Redskins

24. 1. The Redskins are playing very well this year so I look for them to take the best player they can first round. But DE and OL are probably the two biggest concerns overall.

25. Chargers

25. 1. The Chargers need to get some youth in their secondary so CB is a need and also Interior defensive lineman also strike me as being a need with this hot and cold team.

26. Giants

26. 1. The Giants D has picked it up the last couple of weeks and they are looking really good. The biggest thing I see them needing next year is a good young receiver. Toomer is old and Shockey and Burress need someone to take the pressure off of them. Look for an improvement on the offensive line as well as a new Safety and also a Kicker.

27. Buccaneers

27. 1. Jeff Garcia is good but they will need a Franchise QB to learn under him. Also that Franchise QB is going to need someone to throw to other then the 65 yr old Joey Galloway.

28. Steelers

28. 1. MLB is a need because of Age and secondary concerns are CB and also WR to compliment Ward and Holmes.

29. Packers

29. 1. This team is very young other then the QB position but they already have their backup and future starter chosen. For top needs look for them to address CB’s. For later rounds WR, T, TE, OLB.

30. Cowboys

30. 1. Jones is most likely gone after this year and the receiving core is banged up. So first two picks RB and Receiver. Also a very big need is improvement at secondary as well.

31. Colts

31. 1. Defensively they need to improve even more. They are still dominating this year but their picks will come on the defensive end because their offense is so fluid.

32. Patriots

32. 1. They don’t have any needs at all. Wait ummm…..QB? HAHAHA. Ok well I see them taking a LB and maybe a couple of them because their LB’s are very old and are going to need to be replaced soon.
