Mike Hart: 2008 NFL Draft Updates

Mike Hart the senior RB out of Michigan is considered by most to be a late first round NFL Draft pick. Hart has been the RB for the elite Michigan program ever since his freshman year in 2004. In his freshman year Hart showed his versatility as both a receiver and a running back. He ran for 1,455 yards and 9 Td’s as a freshman while bringing in 26 catches for 237 yards and a TD. Due to injuries his sophomore year stats declined rushing for only 662 yds and 4 Td’s. Last year Hart had 1,562 yards and and 14 Td’s. He also brought in 17 catches for 125 yards once again showing his ability to both catch the ball and run the ball. This year so far Hart has a rushing avg. of 5.4 yards per carry. Through 8 games hart already broke the 1,000 yard mark and has 12 Td’s. His receptions have decreased this year however probably because how they struggled in the first couple weeks. I have watched Hart play a couple games this year and Michigan lives and dies bye Hart and relies on him to rush for over a hundred yards and a TD every game. So far Hart has both rushed for over 100 yards a game and scored a TD in every one but one. Look for Hart to go mid to late first round because of his small size. This guy is an elite RB and I think that he should go at the latest middle first round becase of his ability to carry a team and his heart for the game of football. Look for Hart to take an immediate starting role and either split carries or take over as the feature back. So far I haven’t talked about Green Bay drafting a RB because they have Brandon Jackson but I think Hart would fit really well in Green Bay because of his ability to carry a team on the ground and that is the only thing Green Bay is missing. Also look at the usual teams such as the Cowboys, Texans, Cardinals and other teams needed a back to take Hart in the first round.
