2012 NFL Mock Draft 1st Wide Receiver
08/20/2011: In the NFL Draft Wide Receiver isn’t generally known as a position to draft high because of the fact that there are so many receivers and you can get them in middle/late rounds and free agency. In this years 2012 NFL Draft it seems like there are 2 Wide Receivers that are locks to go in the first round of the NFL Draft in April. Justin Blackmon is the first wide receiver I can see going in the 2012 NFL Draft and this is why I have him as my top rated WR in this 2012 NFL Mock Draft. The other option in the first round is Alshon Jeffery out of South Carolina. Alshon Jeffery is a taller Wide Receiver with a bigger frame than Blackmon… but I still think in the end Blackmon is going to be a better receiver.
With all that being said I think that Justin Blackmon does have some off field/character issues which could lead to him falling to the later part of the first round. Talent wise I see him as a lock to be in the top 15 of the 2012 NFL Draft. I think Justin Blackmon would be a good fit in many offenses because he is big enough to be a red zone threat as well as a deep threat in any offense. In my current 2012 NFL Mock Draft I have him going to the Cleveland Browns to give Colt McCoy a legitimate receiving weapon.
