Josh’s 2012 NFL Mock Draft | Round 2

33.       St Louis Rams – OLB Zack Brown – North Carolina

The Rams defense has a definite need at cover linebacker and Brown fits that need. He’ll step in and start for the Rams.

34.        Indianapolis Colts – WR Stephen Hill – Georgia Tech

Typically when a team drafts a QB, they pair him with a WR. I look for the Colts to do the same. They hope Hill will have a Mike Wallace effect on their new offense

35.       Minnesota Vikings – DT Kendall Reyes – Connecticut

Pat Williams’ retirement created a huge hole on this defense. Reyes, at 6’4, 300lbs is large enough to fill it.

36.       Tampa Bay Buccaneers – RB LaMichael James – Oregon

Will provide a start contrast to LeGarrette Blount. Back up RB is a major need on this team.

37.      Cleveland Browns – OG Kevin Zeitler – Wisconsin

Wisconsin lineman are can’t miss picks. Address an area of need outside of their Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack.

38.     Jacksonville Jaguars – WR Rueben Randle – LSU

Blaine Gabbert needs targers. Enough said. Randle has size and is probably a steal at this point in the draft.

39.     St Louis Rams (from WAS) – RB David Wilson – Virginia Tech

There is nothing behind Steven Jackson and lets face, hes not getting any younger either.

40.      Carolina Panthers – CB Alfonso Denard – Nebraska

As I said earlier, no offense. Straight defense, every pick, every round.

41.      Buffalo Bills – TE Dwayne Allen – Clemson

Bills need to give Fitzpatrick another big target to get the ball to. I believe they want to follow the Patriots model on offense with two pass catching TEs.

42.      Miami Dolphins – WR Mohammed Sanu – Rutgers

In going with the QB-WR theme, they give Tannehill a new #1 reciever.

43.      Seattle Seahawks – RB Doug Martin – Boise St

They were in the Michael Bush hunt, so clearly back up RB is a position they feel they need to fill.

44.      Kansas City Chiefs – OLB Lavonte David – Nebraska

Someone to play cover linebacker is a serious need for their 3-4 defense. David was all over the field at Nebraska.

45.      Dallas Cowboys – S Harrison Smith – Notre Dame

Cowboys need a new safety to pair with new CB Brandon Carr. Their depth here is suspect.

46.      Philadelphia Eagles – LB Shea McClellin – Boise State

Linebackers was this teams main weakspot in 2011. This should help shore up their depth.

47.      New York Jets – WR Alshon Jeffery – South Carolina

The Jets will look to Jeffery to replace some of Plaxico Burress’ production in the redzone.
