John E’s 2016 NFL Mock Draft | 11-20

2016 NFL Mock Draft Picks 11-20 by John E

11) Chicago Bears – Jack Conklin OT, Michigan St. 6’6" 308 lbs
DA Bears need some new blood along their OL. Conklin has been an XLNT blind side protector for QB Connor Cook at Michigan St. the last 2 years. Possesses long, strong arms & quick footwork to push DL around. Is good at pass protection & is solid in the run blocking too. Well liked by his teammates & was an awesome walk on.
12) New Orleans Saints – Sheldon Rankins DT, Louisville 6’1" 299 lbs
The Saints gave up way to many td’s by the pass in 2015. One of the reasons for that was the very weak pass rush they had, Rankins had a good 2015 season but just exploded at the senior bowl practices & workouts. Also followed that up w/ a killer combine & a good pro day. Is being compared to the Rams Aaron Donald which is high praise

13) Miami Dolphins (from phil) – Darron Lee OLB, Ohio St. 6’1" 232 lbs
Lee is a fast LB who can cover a lot of ground & is a sure tackler in the open field. His speed enables him to run down RB’s from behind. Good athlete who was a high school QB turned into a SS then a OLB. Burst onto the scene in 2014 w/ 81 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 3 passes broken & 2 int’s.
14) Oakland Raiders – Reggie Ragland ILB, Alabama 6’1" 247 lbs
The Raiders need a strong ILB to help bring their front 7 together. A big time thumper w/ a seek & destroy attitude. Has immense presence in the tackle box. Had a awesome 2015 season right up & through National Championship win over Clemson. Had 102 tackles in 2015 & had 95 tackles in 2014.

15) Tennessee Titans (from la) – Taylor Decker OT, Ohio St. 6’7" 310 lbs
The Titans trade down & get a buttload of picks plus a quality OT which they need to make their OL complete. 3 year starter for the Buckeyes. Had a unsung & impressive season in 2015. Was Big 10 offensive lineman of the year. Has the frame to add more muscle mass & weight.
16) Detroit Lions – Jarran Reed DT, Alabama 6’3" 311 lbs
The Lions still need DT help after losing Suh & Fairley in 2015. Reed has tree trunks for legs & thick branches for arms. Swallows up more than one OL so other players can get a sack or tackle for loss. Tremendous run stuffer but doesn’t get a lot of sacks. His stock is really on the rise & he could go earlier.

17) Atlanta Falcons – Shaq Lawson DE/ER, Clemson 6’3" 269 lbs
Nice catch for the Falcons. Good hybrid player who can play DE in their 4/3 & ER when in 3/4. Had a good medical recheck for injury & will be ready for camp. Led nation in 2015 w/ 25.5 tackles for loss also had 11.5 sacks. Good at leveraging off blocks to penetrate into backfield where he can cause havoc & get sacks.
18) Indianapolis Colts – Ryan Kelly C, Alabama 6’4" 311 lbs
The Colts have some decent OT’s but need to reload the interior of their OL. Kelly is the best Center available by a bunch. Good in pass protection but is just awesome in his run blocking. Heisman winner D. Henry ran for over 2,000 yards behind him in 2015.

19) Buffalo Bills – Robert Nkemdiche DE/DT, Ole Miss 6’3" 294 lbs
With the Bills switching to a 3/4 defense w/ new DC Rob Ryan HC Rex Ryan selects a player that can help them at multiple positions along their DL. Nkemdiche roams along the DL like a dancing bear. Has the speed & quickness of a 3/4 OLB. Could be a very good player but has to get rid of his off field issues & antics. Never quite lived up to his hype coming into Ole Miss.
20) New York Jets – Paxton Lynch QB, Memphis 6’7" 244 lbs
Since the Jets can’t sign Fitz they decide to grab a QB to develop behind Geno Smith. Big QB w/ a strong arm to make all the NFL throws. Needs to get more comfortable playing under center since he played most of his college career in the shotgun. Sees the field well & likes to throw into tight windows down field & has had good success doing so. He’s a wait & see project but if Smith continues to struggle he could see the field early in 2016.
