2014 NFL Mock Draft Round 2

Round 2 | 55-64:

55) Cincinnati Bengals – Antonio Richardson OT, Tennessee 6’6" 336 lbs.
The Bengals could use a new OT w/ Collins going FA to the Bucs. Had 2 good games against Clowney didn’t allow a sack or pressure. XLNT pass protector & good run blocker. Good against speed rushers & has the strength to stop bull rushes. Played well against great SEC pass rushers last 2 years. Has been good blind side protector for Vols last 2 seasons. Had a medical issue @ combine that I think can be resolved.
56) San Francisco 49’ers (via kc) – Martavis Bryant WR, Clemson 6’4" 211 lbs.
Didn’t get much notice at Clemson w/ Watkins catching most of the press. Opened a lot of eyes with a solid performance at combine. Ran a 4.43 40 which is fast for a man his size. Has long arms & good moves to get by CB’s. Definitely has the speed to take it to the house. Plus the Niners need more production from WR’s.
57) San Diego Chargers – Jeremiah Attaochu OLB/DE, Georgia Tech 6’3" 253 lbs.
The Chargers need an OLB/DE that can get to QB & play opposite Melvin Ingram. They get that here. Attaochu was solid all year in 2013 for Tech making big plays whenever they needed them. Has the speed to get to QB off edge & plays the run well. Needs to work on pass coverage.

58) New Orleans Saints – Scott Crichton DE/OLB, Oregon St. 6’3" 273 lbs.
The Saints would be pretty excited if he could fall to them here. Hasn’t been much of a recent buzz on him so maybe he will. Had 47 tackles, 19 TFL, 7.5 sacks & 3 FF in 2013. More disruptive than numbers indicate. Causes lots of havoc off edge & in backfield. Gets attention w/ extra blockers. Would fit in real nice w/ DC Rob Ryans 3/4 D scheme.
59) Indianapolis Colts – David Yankey G/OT, Stanford 6’6" 315 lbs.
The Colts could use some interior OL help. This would be a good spot for him to get off the bus. Would be reunited w/ former teammate & QB Andrew Luck. Smart player. Strong intelligence & instincts. Here’s one glaring stat on him. In 42 career starts for the Cardinal he allowed just ONE sack repeat ONE sack. That’s unreal for playing in the PAC-12 against strong competition.
60) Carolina Panthers – JaWaun James OT, Tennessee 6’6" 311 lbs.
The Panthers are in dire straits at OT. In comes James. 4 year starter for the Vols. Good in pass protection & rush game also. Would be a good blind side protector for Cam Newton for next decade.

61) San Francisco 49’ers – Stanley Jean – Baptiste CB/S, Nebraska 6’3" 218 lbs.
The Niners need help in their secondary so they take a big CB/S which is what you need in the NFC West. The Niners hope that he will be similar to R. Sherman in Seattle. Former WR so knows how to track the ball & go up & get it. Good hitter. Has had 2 good years for the Huskers. His best football is ahead of him. Had a good all around combine.
62) New England Patriots – Troy Nicklas TE, Notre Dame 6’7" 270 lbs.
With all the injuries to Gronk & Hernandez in big trouble maybe it’s time to reload TE. Has surprising speed & can really run the seam. Has reliable hands, great size & runs solid routes. Needs to work on blocking but it will come. Tom Brady is really going to like this pick.
63) Denver Broncos – Gabe Jackson G, Mississippi St. 6’3" 336 lbs.
After their Super Bowl performance & Zane Bradles going FA Elway decides to take a G who is very good in pass protection & is a real road grader for the run game. 3 year starter in Starkville. Good size & surprisingly good foot work.
64) Seattle Seahawks – Cody Latimer WR, Indiana 6’3" 215 lbs.
Another player who has been moving up draft boards. Some have him moving into 1st round but I’m not buying it. The Hawks could use him to replace Sidney Rice. Best player on a bad team. Hard to get noticed when you’re in the bottom half of the Big 10. Got his notice on Indiana pro day. Had a good combine but nothing exceptional. Another player who’s best football should be ahead of him. HC Pete Carroll will coach him up.
