Jared’s 2013 NFL Mock Draft | 6-10

2013 NFL Mock Draft Picks 6-10 by Jared. Quite a few SEC Players in these picks…

6. Cleveland Browns – Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon

If you look at the Browns’ draft history, you see that they like quick, athletic defensive ends. Dion Jordan fits that mold, and he has very high potential as well. He has plenty of room to add weight, particularly in his lower half, and not lose any speed or quickness. I wish that Oregon would have let him loose a little more this year, because he is very fun to watch. Pairing Jordan with Jabaal Sheard could make for a dynamic pass-rushing duo.

7.  Arizona Cardinals – Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

The Cardinals really need to upgrade their offense, particularly at quarterback and the offensive line. I think that Arizona will probably take an offensive lineman in the first, and find a quarterback that they like later on in the draft. Johnson is a great athlete, and has the feet to play on the left side at the next level. They could go either Barkley or Wilson here, but I think that finding a franchise left tackle is the smart pick here.

8. Buffalo Bills – Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas

I am aware that Ryan Fitzpatrick recently signed an extension, but it was a mistake and the Bills need to draft his successor. Wilson is currently my top rated quarterback. He is a great leader on and off the field, has great physical tools, and the kind of attitude that translates to success and winning games. I am high on Matt Barkley, so he could be a decent choice here, but I think that Wilson fits the bill (pun intended) at this point in time.

9. New York Jets – Barkevious Mingo, OLB, Louisiana State

I cannot stress enough how much I dislike Mingo as a prospect. That being said, New York will want to make a splash on draft day, so Mingo does make some sense in that regard. Mingo may have the most potential out of anybody in the draft, but he really failed against top competition this year. Alex Okafor makes a lot of sense here as well, but I think that the Jets will go with the flashier selection in Mingo.

10. Tennessee Titans – Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State

It is hard to believe that Werner has only been playing football for the past few years. He has really emerged as one of the best pass rushers in this draft class. The Titans could go in a lot of directions with this pick, but premium pass rusher is definitely high up on the list. He really stepped it up when teammates Brandon Jenkins and Cornelius Carradine got injured. His motor is second to none, and he would be a great addition in the Titans’ locker room, if nothing else.
