2009 NFL Mock Draft 44-54

February 28th, 2009 · No Comments

44. Miami Dolphins: Mike Johnson, G, Bama

The Dolphins live on their run game so they have to continue to have a top offensive line. So I have them taking the top Offensive Guard in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

45. San Francisco 49ers: Walter Thurmond, CB, Oregon

The 49ers take a CB here to help build their already young secondary. Thurmond is a good playmaker that could help them in the 2010 Season.

46. Denver Broncos: Tony Pike, QB, Cincy

The Broncos have Orton who has been hot and cold. I think McDaniels might be after a guy that he can groom and create like he did with Matt Cassell. Tony Pike is a very big guy with a big arm.  He has the potential to be very good at the next level and Mcdaniels is the guy that could make him a very good NFL QB.

47. New York Giants: Brandon Ghee, CB, WF

The Giants secondary has been hurt the last couple of year. I have seen Ghee going in the first round in a lot of 2010 NFL Mock Drafts so far. However, I see him falling a little bit but not falling past the G-Men because they need a play maker at least as a back up and Ghee is a steal this late in the draft.

48. New England Pats (Tenn): Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincy

The Pats have a decent receiving core but Gilyard brings both returner ability as well as top notch speed. Gilyard can both play the slot as well as be a deep threat opposite Moss. I think he would fit in well with the Pats offense. I see him as a top 2 return man in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

49. Carolina Panthers: Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

The Panthers need to find their QB of the future because I don’t think Moore is a long term answer. They have a couple very solid RB’s but they don’t have a QB that can manage a game and make plays every once in a while. McCoy is a very accurate QB that can also make plays with his feet. He is a good talent but he is a little small for the NFL and he also had an injury to his right shoulder in the National Championship game.

50. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kristofer O’Dowd, C, USC

The Steelers had a tough season this year and they need a good O-line in order to protect Big Ben in order to make plays. O’Dowd is very smart and he is a very good Center. Look for him to work out well at the 2010 NFL Mock Draft combine.

51. Kansas City Chiefs (Atl): Jahvid Best, RB, Cal

The Chiefs have a pretty good RB alredy in Charles but best brings a new dimension to an offense with his elite speed and agility. Look for him to fall a little because of his injury but in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft he is a huge steal because of his skills.

52. Houston Texans: Jordan Shipley, WR, Texas

Everyone is comparing Shipley to Wes Welker and personally I think it is a pretty good comparison with his agility and speed. The Texans already have the deep threats so they get Shipley to be the slot receiver to make the quick 5 yard catches and build their QB.

53. New York Jets: Jared Odrick, DT, PSU

The Odrick is a very good player out of a good program. The Jets have a pretty good defense already but in order to win in the future they will need to continue to build it in the 2010 NFL Draft.

54. Baltimore Ravens: Rennie Curran, OLB, Georgia

The Ravens LB’s aren’t getting any younger. I have them taking Curran to play with these top notch LB’s for a year or two and then take over as a starter. He is one of the top OLB in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.
