2009 NFL Mock Draft Round 2

December 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Round 1 – - Round 3Round 4Round 5

33. Detroit Lions: Eben Britton, OT, AZ

The Lions went with a QB to be the face of their franchise and a great LB in the first round of this 2009 NFL Mock Draft. Now with this pick if they are lucky Britton a very athletic Tackle will fall to them.

34. Cincinnati Bengals: Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss

Hardy is considered to be a first rounder by many but he has a lot of trouble keeping on weight. So I think he might have first round talent but if he can’t keep weight on he is going to get pushed around by OT’s in the NFL.

35. KC Chiefs: Alex Mack, C, Cal

The Chiefs need a lot of help and Alex Mack is a great Center who could also play guard in the NFL. He is considered to be the best center to get drafted in years. The 2009 NFL Season is important for the Chiefs to turn around their team.

36. St. Louis Rams: Lesean McCoy, RB, Pitt

The Rams have had loads of talent in the past and haven’t been successful. Now they are starting to get younger and need to rebuild everything.  Lesean McCoy could be the best RB in the 2009 NFL Draft but the need for RB’s has gone down.  So the Rams some how land him here and match him up with the great Steven Jackson who can hopefully stay healthy.

37. Seattle Seahawks: Louis Murphy, WR, Florida

The Seahawks had injured and old WR’s all year so they need to get younger at that position. I don’t know if Murphy is the answer but they will take the best player available at this position for the 2009 NFL Season.

38. Oakland Raiders: George Selvie, DE, USF

The Raiders need a lot of help much like the rest of the teams that pick this high in the NFL Draft. The Raiders could definitely need a DE to put pressure on the QB and help out the secondary. I don’t know if this is the biggest need for the 2009 Season but this is a great talent for this deep into the second round.

39. San Fran 49ers: Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss

The 49ers are a team with a good RB and that is about it other than some bits and pieces here and there.  So I think they build from the inside out with this 2009 NFL Draft pick.  Jerry is a very physical quick DT who will cause a lot of problems for Guards in the NFL.

40. NE Patriot(Chargers): Connor Barwin, DE/LB, Cincy

The Patriots are old at the LB position and they got a great LB in Jerod Mayo in the 2008 NFL Draft. So I now have them taking a great athlete who can play DE or LB wherever Bill wants to play them.

41. Jacksonville Jaguars: B.J. Raji, NT, BC

The Jaguars were supposed to be good this year but it turns out they just lost to the Cincinnati Bengals and didn’t even score.  So the Jaguars take a run stopper here that will help them on the defensive end of the ball.

42. Cleveland Browns: Alphonso Smith, CB, WF

The Browns are another team that was supposed to be good in the 2008 season but it turns out they aren’t. Their secondary for another year in a row is awful so they need to make some changes and take someone that can help them in the future.

43. GB Packers: Chase Coffman, TE, Mizzou

Aaron Rodgers started the season off very well and then his team fell apart on him. I think if they give him a great pass catching TE like Chase Coffman then he will be a much better QB. Coffman has been a huge target for Daniels the last two years and I believe that he will make an immediate impact much like Dustin Keller did for Brett Favre.
