After watching Spoon play for the past few years, I completely agree with you with this pick. Not only are the Eagles my favorite team, but they also drafted Maclin last year, which shocked me. The way Spoon has led our Mizzou Tigers the past few years is just remarkable. The way he stepped up into a leadership role at the Senior Bowl was a fine example of how he can lead his squad. He is going to be nothing short of great at the next level. He is definitely one of the best all-around LBs in this draft, and could immediately step in and contribute this year. But I do have one disagreement with your evaluation, albeit not a very big one. I can’t see Spoon projecting to play DE, even for the Eagles. To me, he is going to be better at OLB, where he is going to be all over the field non-stop. Personally, I would love to see him play in some true 4-3, as Mizzou mostly plays in the nickel. If the Eagles take Spoon, that’s going to be Christmas in April for me.
