2009 NFL Mock Draft 11-21

Round 2-3-4-5

11. Baltimore Ravens: Vontae Davis, CB, ILL.

The Baltimore Ravens have a young QB and a potentially a young RB of the future.  The Ravens might decide to help out Flacco here with a prime time WR like Percy Harvin…but as of now i have them boosting an aging defense for the 2009 season. I could see them going after Maclin or Percy Harvin in my next 2009 NFL Mock Draft if they continue to play like they have been playing. Also the Ravens could look for a LB to help eventually replace Ray Lewis who is getting old and banged up.

12. Arizona Cardinals: Beanie Wells, RB, OSU

With Kurt Warner at the Helm the Arizona Cardinals look pretty good so far.  The one thing they don’t have right now that they will need is a RB of the future.  If Beanie Wells can get healthy and stay healthy the rest of the College Football season he will be the top RB off the board. He is fast and very versatile which will be good in the 2009 NFL Season for the Cardinals. Also I could see the Cardinals going one of many routes for their defense to boost it in the 2009 NFL Season.

13. TB Buccaneers: Percy Harvin, WR, FL

The Buccaneers have a both aging offense as well as defense. Galloway is going to be about 40 next year and they need to give whoever is going to be QB for them in the future some WR weapons.  So I think Harvin who can return kicks and is a burner will be good to fill this hole.  Harvin has great speed so he could make an immediate impact in the 2009 season and maybe even get a starting role as a WR.  Look for Harvin to dominate at the Combine and then go in the top 15 in the 2009 NFL Draft.

14. Denver Broncos: Rey Mauluga, ILB, USC

The Broncos Offense looks very very good so far.  Jay Cutler has been throwing well and their receivers are lights out so far. The two things they need to work on are their Running game as well as their defense. So in this situation they could take Knowshon Moreno who is a very strong, hard, and fast runner out of a good football program. The other route is to go for Defense and Rey Mauluga is a great ILB and he could anchor the middle of the field for them for years to come.  Look for them to fill their biggest need in the 2009 season.  As of now in this 2009 NFL Draft I have them going for the big ILB out of the dominant USC.

15. Seattle Seahawks: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Mizzou

Seattle has looked really really bad this year so far. I know they have had a lot of injuries but they don’t look like they will win a game (well maybe the Rams).  So I have them going with one of the best big WR’s in College Football.  Maclin has been lights out so far this year and if he runs well at the combine he could go higher then this in the 2009 NFL Draft.  However, Seattle could also go RB or Offense line which are two other huge problems that they have encountered so far this season.  Look for them to take the best value at the point they draft in the 2009 NFL Draft.

16. Cleveland Browns: Knowshon Moreno, RB, GA

The Browns are Lucky that Moreno falls to them hear and they decide to snag him up to learn under Jamal Lewis who is aging on every carry. I think if Moreno falls to them in the 2009 NFL Draft they have to take him but if he doesn’t I think they need to address the defensive problems.  The Browns secondary is probably the weakest part of the team and if Moreno didn’t fall this far I would have had them taking a DB in this 2009 NFL Mock Draft.

17. Minnesota Vikings: Chase Coffman, TE, Mizzou

Minnesota has lost some close ones so far but I am not sure if they want to go QB, WR, or TE with this pick in the draft. I am not sure if Coffman deserves to go this high in the NFL Draft but as of now this is where I have him slotted because the Titans need a good big Target for Tavaris to throw the ball to.  This Minnesota team is going to be good in the 2009 season and years to come they just need a QB to help take some pressure off of Adrian Peterson.  Look for them to help Jackson in whatever decision they make in the 2009 NFL Draft.

18. Chicago Bears: Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky

This is a tough Pick because they could try to help out their defense or they could take a QB to replace Kyle Orton.  Orton is definitely not a long term solution. So if their is an elite QB that falls this far look for the Lovie Smith maybe to act on it. I am not sure what Lovie is thinking with Orton and Grossman but he needs someone else for 2009 and on. Right now I don’t think their is a QB good enough to go this hi so I have them building their Defense with a young athletic CB. They have looked pretty good on defense but if you can stop the pass and they can get younger they will be a very good team in the 2009 NFL Season. Also look for them to look at boosting the O-Line because they have been hit or miss with both pass protection and run protection in this season.

19. NY Brets: Lesean McCoy, RB, Pitt

The Brets don’t have a very good RB in Thomas Jones he is all washed up and needs to be released or traded in my opinion.  I think that the Brett’s could get a good RB in the first round to spark their offense and help them in the 2009 season.  I don’t know if McCoy is a first round draft pick as of now but in this 2009 NFL Draft I have him going here because they need him. Some other options here could be addressing the Defense like they did last year in the first round or boosting the receiver core for Brett if he decides to stay for another year.

20. Buffalo Bills: Ciron Black , OT, LSU

The Bills have started 3-0 now which is pretty crazy seeing as how young they are as a team. I previously had them taking a CB but Ithink they boost their O-Line more with this pick…maybe even a Guard if there is one worthy. Lastly, I think the Bills are still a team of the future and this 2009 NFL Draft is going to dictate how good they are.

21. Philly Eagles (Car): Myron Rolle, S, FSU

The Eagles have looked good on Offense but their defense isn’t air tight this season.  The Cowboys scored over 40 pts on them so I think they need to boost the team with a good safety. Rolle is a great safety who is both physical and smart.  He will make an immediate impact in the 2009 NFL Season if he is given the chance. I think Rolle is a very good RB and that is why I have him going 21 in my 2009 NFL Mock Draft.
