2008 NBA Mock Draft- 6/23/08

1. Chicago Bulls: Michael Beasley, SF, Kansas St.

Derrick Rose is very good and could complement the bulls well but not like Beasley.  He is a great forward that can not only take it to the basket but can also shoot lights out.  Not to mention he is very aggressive so he will muscle people out.  Look for him to be very good in the NBA right from the start. I like him as the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.

2. Miami Heat: Derrick Rose, PG, Memphis

The Heat had a tough year with injuries and trades not knowing what was going on.  But they now have Merrian and D-Wade who are great basketball players. If they bring Derrick Rose to run the point then Wade will get a lot more open looks which will open up the game even more.  Look for Rose to step in and be a big contributor right away in the 2009 season.

3. Minnesota T-Wolves: Brook Lopez, C, Stanford

The T-Wolves need a lot of help so they go to the man in the middle for the help.  Lopez has a great feel for where the basket is and he has great touch on his shot.  He is going to need to gain some muscle weight and get a little more aggressive but he has a shot to do something this upcoming year. I think with his size and his basketball intelligence he could be a very good NBA Player in years to come.

4. Seattle Sonics: O.J. Mayo, SG, USC

Mayo is a very good basketball player because he can take it to the hole as well as shoot the J.  He has good size and is just a good all around player. I think leaving early may have heart him as far as developing into a better player but if you were going top 5 you would leave early as well.  So Mayo steps in and contributes right away but isn’t a superstar at first.

5. Memphis Grizzlies: Anthony Randolph, SF, LSU

Randolph is a young player out of LSU but he has all the weapons to be great in the NBA. He is quick, smart, agile and just all around good.  So look for the Grizzlies to like the player they get if they pick up Randolph.

6. New York Knicks: Jerryd Bayless, PG, AZ

Bayless is an all around good PG and will be the same in the NBA.  Some drafts I have seen have him going in the top three because his quicks and his basketball skills.  I think he will be a leader with the Knicks and one piece to the big puzzle the Knicks need to put together to win games.

7. LA Clippers: Kevin Love, PF, UCLA

I think love should have gone back to school for another year to improve his offensive skills.  He was very good but he needs to learn more moves he isn’t just going to be able to muscle people around in the NBA.  I think love is a very smart player, great passer, great defender, and a good offensive weapon.  I just think if he went back to school he would have learned a lot and probably been a top 3 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

8. Milwaukee Bucks: Danilo Gallinari, SF, Italy

9. Charlotte Bobcats: Roy Hibbert, C, Georgetown

10. New Jersey Nets: Darrell Arthur, PF, Kansas

11. DeAndre Jordan, C, Texas A&M

12. Sacremento Kings: D.J. Augustin, PG, Texas

13. Portland Trailblazer: Russell Westbrook, PG, UCLA

14. GS Warriors: Donte Greene, SF, SU

15. Phoenix Suns: Eric Gordon, SG, Indiana
